RawnuRe killings and combat rank: is it correct that killing Thargoid Banshees and Revenants is giving quite a significant bump to your rank?
That's what I read in this forum several times over but it was before the last update, perhaps it has changed.

I was just wondering: can you enter these things? Probably not, I know that Thargoid surface sites are supposed to have tunnels you can drive in? But dang would it be interesting to enter a spire site. Gives me serious ME2 suicide mission vibes!

The crashed Thargoid ships which are known as the 'surface sites' do have tunnels to drive around and a central chamber that will display a sort of star map if activated with a Thargoid probe, sensor and link (found locally for the third). Apparently said map used to reflect Thargoid activities over time but I don't think Frontier still use this mechanism. You do also need one of the above items to enter (the non-cheesy way, assuming that a bug which allowed entry without was not fixed).

How do you deal with those little guys? Just shoot them? I thoght about going in there but was not sure and I had too much data with me to just go and see what happens.

Just ignore them. They will not attack you if you don’t aggro them.
That said, Thargoid Scavengers’ weapons are pretty weak. They’re about as dangerous as human Sentry Skimmers.

Is the scene at 2:17 in the video not inside the spire? (I just assumed since the previous scene was light that the darkness meant inside. Is it still outside?)

That is not "inside" a spire, they have a sort of landing pad which leads into a semi-open area beneath an overhang, with various small platforms leading to a larger one which contains an interactible storage container.
There is yet a chance Cocijo might reactivate two more of its spires next or second-next week, but the one that is currently active around it will remain so until Thursday (unlike other Thargoid-controlled systems spires do not turn off until Thursday, but activities there will also not contribute to war progress past 100%).
