Elite: General talk

You know would maximize this game completely? A rotating ball case with a vibrating game chair in it, stereo speakers at the head rest and a VR for complete immersion. A joystick and separate throttle control, and every time you try to launch up from a planet surface the chair rolls back making you face upward and feeling like you are literally pulling G’s.

That would be fantastic.

I have a Butt Shaker mounted on my chair, it really adds to the game experience. Combat, gravitational pull when flying past planets, landing, taking off, going thru the mail slot, even using the system scanner, are all effected with pronounced vibrations from the transducer.

Very cool. My last simulator had a rumble chair so you felt the engines, felt impacts and gunfire. It was really immersive.

The thing about CH Products is that if they do fail, replacement parts are supposedly easy to get. If you can operate a screwdriver, electrical tape, and a glue gun there's no reason they shouldn't last longer than Elite will.

Fix 'em? And pass up an excuse to buy new toys?
What are you thinking, man?

I'm from an older generation. Fixing things is just how I think. My 1080 has 2 PSU fans tied onto it because the factory set died and I had those not doing anything. Sure it no longer has that sleek neon light strobe coolness going for it anymore, but it still makes me smile every time I check under the hood and they're still chugging along just fine. Also 65 deg C under load

I was first in my lane, waiting on a LONG red light. when the light turned green I said "Frame Shift Drive charging, 4 3 2 1...." My truck feels like my Python, even the same color. If only I could deploy hard points...

If you are from an older generation than me then you would have had to have been born when there were still only 48 states.

I'm Planning a week long Expedition to the Orion Nebula to Map as many star systems and discover any and all Biological and non-biological things there are to find out there. I've allways wanted to explore the galaxy and seeing as I'm 38 and probably not on anyone's list of crew to actually go into space this is the closest ill ever get so any and all are welcome to come with me ill be leaving as soon as I load my carrier up with enough Ammenities, Ammunition, Tritium, and Susie's to last a week out in unchartered space.

MISSION DETAILS
I will be traveling from star to star so jump range is not a must And I want to map a 500 light year radius around my Carrier If all goes well we should be back to the bubble in a week And if we find anything of significant value discovery wise or credit Wise I might stay a little longer The trip to the Orion Nebula should take no more than half an hour Leaving us plenty of time to travel ⁹ discover I will start at the
EZ ORIONIS star System and figure out our itinerary as we go any and all Commanders are welcome to come just be at The United Federal Exploration Fleets Headquarters by 20:00:00 In Game Time Today
I know its short Notice but I really want to take this trip A.S.A.P. o7

Carrier Location: The RHEA System - Planet RHEA 5 A
Carrier Name U.F.E.F HE/\DQU/\RTERS TOX-8VT

I interrupted a loudmouth American (Golfer, wearing plus 4's, checked!) in my local Scottish pub, asking him what State has initials PH?
He was happy to tell me at great lengths I was wrong and there wasn't a State with those initials.
I told him I remember now, it is Pearl Harbour!
Pearl Harbour isn't a State sonny, he guffawed.
I said it was a state after the Japanese left it in 1940.

Locals were in stitches. He left himself open for it.

Twould have been funnier if you had said '41 methinks.

Pearl Harbor isn't a state...not even an island or city...it's a harbor in Hawaii.
Geez...I thought it was just Americans that were lousy at grography.
Thinking Pearl Harbor is a state would be like thinking Big Ben was a nation.

Very awesome...but all the nebulas are explored. There are pecker tracks all over every single one of 'em.
Doubt you will find much...but the view will be awesome.

Umm, I'm referring to the punchline saying the Japs left in '40 when the attack actually occurred in '41. (geez I thought Americans were bad at history...)

Don't give up your day job, you'll never make it as a comedian.
