Pahl Well...... just went in and tried resetting all of my keybinds and now it's all good again. Made copies of bindings for both Horizons and Odyssey and renamed them as such, just in case this old man screws them up again.

That is the smart move. Always have backups in a separate folder since who knows when the FDev update/bug monster will strike next.
One of my buttons always provides a dual-input and cycles through 3 different sets each time the button is pressed, so I had to manually remove the secondary inputs in the file itself so the game reads it as the same input each time.

One button press for dual inputs, that sounds very usefull Kurikil. If you don't mind me asking, what do you have bound to the same button?

When I would press the button, the default button input was:
First Press: [Button 1 + Button 2]
Second Press: [Button 1 + Button 3]
Third Press: [Button 1 + Button 4]

I removed the "+ Button X" part of it in the file so now it only ever reads as Button 1.
I don't have the same button do two different things simultaneously. I suppose I could but I'm not sure what I would have that be.

PahlI'm sorry Meowers, I'm not certain I understand the "hold" function you are referring to. Is it for instance how you would want the cargo bay to stay open after pressing the button momentarily? Or do you mean one short press vs a sustained press?
One bind for usual 'push and release', another for 'push and hold for a second'. For example, I have boost on one of the hat switches, but it had to be pushed up and held a bit to prevent unwanted boosts.

Ahhh, got it. I was thinking a single button press to turn on silent running and eject a heatsink at the same time, or something along that line.

Meowers, in the game control options you can set an input to toggle or hold, is this what you mean?
Or was this button set to push and hold with a delay to release?

Pahl
PahlGood Morning Commanders,
I have been playing Elite Dangerous Horizons in VR for a few years now. Originally thru Oculus' platform (Rift S) now on Steam (HP Reverb).

I purchased and installed Odyssey over the weekend thru Frontier Games, and am having an unusual issue with my HOTAS. I have a Thrustmaster Warthog and it works perfectly in Horizons (Oculus or Steam) however when I launch Odyssey (Steam or thru launcher) my HOTAS shows up in controller options, and shows as it is mapped the same as it is in Horizons, however there is no response in game from HOTAS commands, only the mouse is working.

Just wondering if anyone has run into this issue and may have a fix.

Artie, if this is the incorrect forum for this post please move it.

Keybind backups are always a good idea. I have a similar setup to yours, and I've found another possible reason that happens.

- HP Reverb G2
- Game launched from Frontier launcher
- Steam VR launches when game launches

I have fond that a little Steam VR window often pops up over the launched game, and so my KBM/HOTAS input is redirected there instead of the game. But from inside the headset I can't tell why it's not responding.

If I dont' catch it before I'm in VR, either:
- take off headset -> bring game to front -> back in VR
or:
- Reverb controller -> menu button -> desktop -> bring game to front.

The second option. Push, hold for a second, and then release. Try to test it in Odyssey config menu, and then in Horizons. Just push some random button and hold it, then release.

Thank You Rotwhylr, I will look out for that if I seem to lose my binds again. I have run into the same situation with my HOTAS loosing focus because another window, whether it is the Steam VR window or browser etc. pops up on top. Have also lost HOTAS momentarily when my cursor jumps over to the messaging window (VR) while I am just casually looking around.

It always bugged me, that I missed to link and update my Inara-data from my earliest gameplay;
can I somehow, somewhere upload my journals by hand, to have my profile here completed?

Kurakil
KurakilDoes anyone know what the dimensions of profile banners are intended to be in the Frontier Forums? It seems it is 250 height and an unspecified width when I "inspect", but when I try to apply an image it is always blurry and somewhat zoomed in regardless of the actual image resolution.

Apparently it scales any smaller images up to 1280 width. When using a 1280x720 image there was no additional scaling applied unless the browser window was made incredibly small.

This is the proper size... sadly we can't replace most the banners on Inara.

Yes you can manually update by dropping the log from your computer, however the log only goes as far back as your install - meaning if you get a new computer it will not have the starting journal.

I started an external journal in the free google doc - it has a lot of easy drag drop, and centering that I could not figure out with tables in Inara.

I also have a Galnet-type news section if interested in adding your investigations or character profile.

BurstarCurrent Community Goal is a classic example of how FDev steers the storyline. The conclusion is obvious before it even begins.

What do you mean?

What do you mean?

It says what I mean right there in the quote. Also, FTR, this quote is about a CG 5 weeks ago so if you REALLY want to know what I mean, then go research the CG(s) that were on at that time, look at the two choices, their relative rewards, and the outcome. Then put 2 and 2 together...
