Elite: General talk

RawnuJust noticed that my FC carrier finances have now reached a point where this thing will run for over 5 years without me doing anything (and still have some billions left in the bank). Elite Dangerous is really simulating the post-scarcity economy. The only thing left is occupying yourself with worthwhile stuff to do (in my case currently: engineering every possible type of Mandalay).

Yup. You said it.

I'm someone who enjoys creativity, learning, and experience/exploration. Therefore, I already value the intangible rewards of an activity more than the tangible ones. It's nice, for me, to reach a point in the game where the gameplay aligns with that mindset.

Ye.. my fc in legacy still lives.

So, because there is not much else left to do, I thought about getting a FC. As I understand, I should have at least 2x the price in the bank before I buy it and add services I need.
Gotta grind for VistaGenomics a bit more. ~150 planets to go.

What happens after that? How do you make money with this thing? It's ridiculously expensive to keep it at float.

It's nice to have two of your own picks being "popular" at the same moment. Nice Sunday surprise

I'm no native speaker, and therefore have a relaxed "feck it, I have no idea what it means but I will press that button now and see what happens!" trial and error approach to stuff, but some of the things I get are outright funny. So I am hanging out in a system that is ruled by murder hobos and gangsters, generally speaking not people you'd want in your neighborhood, and I get a friend request. Which I think is funny somehow... "I'm a badass coldhearted killer, do you want to be friends?"

And that little madness made laugh and accept it, for who doesn't want someone at their side when they are going to bomb a starport or kill a few rich people in their Saud Kruger luxury ships.

It's all somewhat exaggerated maybe, but who had thought that litte things like friend requests could be so entertaining.

Is that (approach) also why you were playing Guardian football a couple days ago?

Might also be a good time to jump a carrier now, unless I got lucky with an 18 minute jump slot (but it’s probably because most of the EU/Europe hasn’t come around from work and/or school just yet, and the US will generally be in early morning).

It sadly got destroyed when it bounced into some lava thingy (didn't expect that to happen, and neither for it to turn into mist that looked alarmingly greenish), but who knows - maybe this saved the universe from Salvation, should he have been in that thing. Usually though this is known as a highly advanced method of repair - you kick stuff back into action

Sadly I have to be a good citizen and work for the crown, so I can only jump the carrier in my free time which seems to be the worst time doing it as it reliably took one hour and fifteen minutes during all five jumps it had to do. But fear not, X4 may be my personal salvation.

Okay, I won't say anyone that I deliberately pushed it into the lava thingy. Let's pretend it happened unintentionally. We hadn't destroyed a million years old relic by goofery, it was purely an accident.

... even if it was not intentional, it's still stupidity. And I wouldn't know if I had not seen the screenshot as well as the text which it had.

Next time you go kicking around stuff, invite me. Unless it's Thargoid probes, I don't think anybody wants caustic scars.

I guess this just proves we need to be more careful to not leave evidence when we mess up stuff. Imagine someone found out what we did with Raxxla... oops.

It's not a war crime for the first time!

I'm only going to say this once and you gotta listen carefully: there is no Raxxla, what even is that, have you said something? Ah didn't think so. We're good. All is good, nothing to see here. Move along.

*dodged that bullet, was a close one!

To me, at this point, Raxxla might as well be complete bulltard some (mildly) space-mad explorer came up with and just kept rambling on about until it became common myth with its origin forgotten.

… it feels better to just write it off like that when there are people who just keep trying to shove it into every theory possible.

Phah. Conspiracy theorists and Raxxla deniers. That's all you can do, to squabble. I have a Raxxla, right here and now, look...

...what in the hells... I swear it was right here just a minute ago, in that pizza box. Feck. Now I have to search again I guess...

Are you sure it wasn’t a pizza in that box, and that you didn’t eat it?

… now I feel like I want one.
