Hugues De PayensI have a Thrustmaster T16000M and all of a sudden the stick (cockpit view) now pans slowly to the right when I enter the game. I actually have three of these and they all do the same thing. Does anyone have a clue what might be causing this?

Thanks!

There is one weakness with the T1600M, the twist-to-yaw function breaks down eventually. I had three of them and they all went the same way. It sounds like that is your problem. If you go to your calibration screen (in TARGET software) you will be able to verify this as you will see the twist/yaw control will not centre properly.
If you are still in the warranty period Thrustmaster will replace your stick, but after a frustratingly lengthy process. It is a damn shame that Tmaster have not rectified that weakness in an otherwise fine stick.

I am in agreement. I also have a T16000M setup. Got it back in 2017. It's held up just fine until 2021. Now the stick randomly starts making the ship yaw. So far the workaround I have was that I disabled the twist function on my joystick and actually started using the rudder pedals instead. Personally preferred the twist feature on the stick but the pedals will have to do for now. If Thrustmaster would make that twist feature more durable, it would probably be the perfect setup for ED.

Change the dead zone settings.

You can try changing the dead zone. That may or may not work. In my case, even with larger dead zones, it will still randomly begin to falsely register input. I had to completely unbind the twist part of the joystick.

Absolutely this ^, I also tried modifying the dead zone and it was a very short term fix even when it worked. When I began to consider having to buy a pedal setup and go through the process of ‘learning’ a new control method, I bit the bullet and went for a more robust but horribly more expensive HOTAS. After absorbing the shock of the outlay I have not regretted a penny of it. Not everyone will have the funds for this option I know. But if you play Elite as much as I do, or any other flight sim, it is worth saving up for.

I had a Thrustmaster T-Flight Stick X before rebuiding my setup to double T16000M HOSAS. After a few months of combat rank grind intense playing it started to randomly roll me to the left. Deadzone can't help here, in such a magnitude it would look like turning the roll axis off completely. But if it's a common problem with 16000s, OS calibrations settings are okay and movements are slight, then yeah, deadzone may work in your case.

If you don't mind my asking, what did you upgrade to? Fund's aren't so much a problem for me so much as it is not being sure what joystick I want to upgrade to. I love the throttle that the T16000M comes with. I have yet to find one that can really properly take its place. As for joysticks, I'm fairly certain I could make do with most other models, just not sure which one to go with.

After extensive research I really did bite the bullet and went for Virpil controls. They have various sticks available, at least one of which has a twist-to-yaw function (in my case the Constellation Delta). Using third party software such as Joystick Gremlin it is perfectly viable to use your Thrustmaster throttle along with Virpil or, indeed, any other stick, if that is your preference. It certainly would be cheaper as the Virpil throttles are pricey! They are also made from metal parts and, like their sticks, are likely to be the last controls you ever need to buy.

Personally I found the Virpil software program difficult to master, that is why I use Joystick Gremlin which is much more intuitive.

Virpil products....... ok maybe my funds aren't quite that high lol. Not going to lie though, there stuff does look awesome.

Edit: just staring at the Virpil Mongoos Throttle, Constellation stick and warbrd base drooling...... but do I really want to spend the near $850 for it....... maybe in time if I get more active in ED again. Honestly haven't been flying in ED that much. Still tempted though for Star Citizen and Flight Simulator.

Yeah, I dithered over the expense for a while As I recall I calculated I could replace the TM1600M several times before reaching that kind of outlay. But eventually temptation got the better of me, and I am blessed with a very understanding if long-suffering wife

I use Virpil Con-A, WPD Base and T50 throttle. I've never used them for Elite, but I am a DCS'r and their products are amazing. You're definitely getting what you pay for that's for sure.

I think with Elite you can get away with not having a throttle since people like to go with the L-R sticks, and maybe a rudder for the layout.

Holy shit...

Microsoft just bought Activision Blizzard.

70 billion.

To be honest, I wasn't expecting that but I'm glad they did that. Activision was neglecting Xbox players for a long time be it their games or games published by them, so I guess now suddenly they start doing something about the ones that haven't had patches for over a year or entirely blocked MS from issuing the FPS Boost (I am looking at you, Sekiro - you had PS5 patch on the console's launch).

I'm just happy because it was getting tiresome having Sony moneyhat year or more 3rd party exclusives. It was only a matter of time before Sony's actions garnered a response from MS. In either case, it's hard not to keep looking at this picture.

So when are they rebranding WoW to Warcraft 365?
