I really wanted to play NMS, and started to several times...but I get irritated by their starting point.
WTF did they start you off with a broken ship? Do they realize how many people stop playing right there?

It's a survival game. These all start in similar ways. In Empyrion you start in an escape pod tumbling towards a planet. In The Forest you survive a plane crash. In Rust and Conan Exiles you start literally naked.

Repairing the ship in NMS doesn't take long though. The grind in ED is MUCH worse.

...How? I'm still waiting for proper optimization for Xbox Series, because it still lags horribly during planetfalls and more "effect frenzy" moments. It kinda surprises me given the fact that Series S is a beast by itself (when compared to Xbox One or pricewise PCs, as you'd need pay more than for Xbox Series X to get a comparable PC to XSS) because the graphics aren't THAT complicated to begin with.

Unless, UNLESS the "framerate drops" are not hardware but problem with the internet not capable to process it fast enough. If that's the case, then nothing really can fix that one.


Edit: I've skimmed through a few Reddit/YouTube posts and realized it's not just me and NMS is just poorly optimized. :/

All the games makes by small studio/devs are poorly optimized, if they don't use a good render engine. But this cost money, and small studio can't afford them (or don't want to afford them) so... they develop their crappy little specific game engine without to be specialized in this. ^^

I hope they fixed the bug that made the NCPD issue arrest warrants for no reason. Kinda ruined my second playthrough.

Yes, first one was a sneaky netrunner nomad with mantis blades, second was a gunslinger corpo with very little hacking skill. But the second playthrough didn't get far because the NCPD bug became so annoying, so I'll probably start a new character.

Maybe this time it'll be a male V that romances Panam, lol.
