It was brake failure, not speed issue. Rear brakes were glowing red, while front not (it should be opposite). But Bernd Maylander saved it slightly-he throw car into slide and that slowed him down quite lot so impact was not so hard

Once I read that it was Maylander driving I figured it had to be a failure of some type. Speaking from experience, brake failures at triple digit speeds are not a fun experience.

Becccccccccccccccca. I'm glad to hear it! Seems you only pop in once a year, but it's all good. Hope you're well!

I'm good, no worries. I hope you too

Well, I kinda lost interest in Elite completely so activity on Inara declined naturally as well

I'm not even active on the discord anymore. Well, the discord as a whole is pretty dead tbf.

Come for a nearly dead game...

Stay for the friends we made along the way.

The game was already dead 4 years ago. But then the pandemic happened.

For some people it’s been dead since it launched. Alas, here we are.

… but I wouldn’t mind getting a few more things of substance, less “At least try to make this gameplay-only thing look like it has even a slight story basis” in GalNet, again.

That latest episode of Kentucky Roulette is really one of the best representations of Thargoid explosions at point blank range.

That's me after getting a private dance at my favorite strip club.

Having just watched it (and my first of these episodes), I now understand the reference. But at least we can get rid of that sludge conveniently with heat...

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to look at some 'zombie' torsos (made of ballistic gel) getting obliterated by a 20mm anti-tank rifle.

Oh, you're totally going to like that, lol. Especially the last one with the shield.
(.50 BMG Rat Shot point blank still stands unbeaten though, but there was no armour in the way)

A comment nails the third shot best.

"He's not going to need a chiropractor, he needs a necromancer"

Haven't gone through much of the backlog yet, mostly just the really big weapons. So I don't know about that rat shot yet... but considering some of the other devastation inflicted on 'zombie torsos', including turning bulletproof vests into projectiles, I expect a lot. A lot of mess.

I could totally see Meowers in roleplay do something like the Kentucky Roulette but perhaps with... slightly less upsetting substances involved.
