Elite: Odyssey

Lambast MercyYes, Fdev didn't wanna miss out on the sweet Console cash so they made Elite controller friendly (as they could) from the start.

like any good congressman in america will tell you, lean to the green, ALWAYS! and he didnt mean trees.

I wouldn't upgrade just yet, as what we're seeing in the alpha clearly isn't their final word. In fact they'll have to do some extensive optimization anyway to bring Odyssey to last-gen consoles as they plan to (unless they want to pull off a CDPR-style stunt there).

Besides, I hear complaints even from people running 30x0 cards.

Just test and report your findings to them. That's the whole point.

Knightwolf 1785This makes me wonder how it's going to go for the Xbox and PlayStation commanders. More so on how the controllers are going to be setup and using some of the menus.

Elite controller owners bypass this dilemma. Especially if you have the series 2. Just load up your flight setup on one profile and the FPS setup on another. Just a quick button press on the controller to swap between.

Good luck to you PC folks figuring that out though

Needed a new controller anyway so I treated myself to a Series 2 and have been trying it out this weekend...

Absolute game changer. Even with just the four shift paddles it has helped me map out all of my key binds straight away.

I'm a big fan of earning your merits but, yeah, it's made a big difference for me.

i find the solution simple...fps=keyboard and mouse, on ship=grab my trusty thrust master 14000 mcs+pedals and go fly kites with it. It does require a bit of desktop space. your average study table desktop in the corner of the room is not gonna cut it

you cant match the accuracy of the mouse to a thumbstick it just wont happen.

ED is the only game I've ever actually used the paddles for. Otherwise the only feature i use often is the match triggers, which are FPS game changers and will help with Odyssey i bet

ED is my main game, I don't really play much else, so it's a massive thing for me.

I've got the trigger set up on the secondary one that I've binded (bound?) to "honk"... I find it's helped me, and I've got my right pad tighter than my left, I find it gives me better control (the left thumbpad is the long stemmed one too). I set both triggers for combat.

It's good that there's so many ways to change things till they suit our individual gameplay styles better. I'm still experimenting.

I was never much for flight sims before ED, i found them fun but quickly boring. Battlefield planes/jets was as close as i came prior. So when i started i found playing with the default of triggers for weapons and bumpers for throttle impossible. I had to customize my ED setup from scratch essentially.
Biggest issue i run into helping new players, 'what button do i hit to open that?' 'Ummm....good question'

Sure. I guess if one can go double-monitor without purchasing another desk, then everything will be fine in terms of free space for controllers. And it still allows you to use PC as PC, i.e. multipurpose platform to do games, work, browsing, movies, etc.

But there's a people who made some cockpit-like simulation constructions with kb and mouse being put on some side role.

If someone haven't figured it out yet:
You can recall Apex and empty your backpack so you can pick more stuff.

On a side note: I have obtained all mats for suit upgrade but the option is grayed.

Where did you find the manufacturers instructions?

Random download from data ports in Industrial buildings. Got one from Lab terminal and most of them from industrial terminal.
I've heard that if you have items marked as stolen you cannot upgrade. Unfortunately, mission rewards are also marked as stolen and there is no easy way of obtaining clean Power regulator.

I heard someone removed the regulator after they finished a restoration mission.

No, if the mission is completed you cannot remove regulator. Take option is grayed.
The only way to do it is if there are fires. You can remove the power regulator before extinguishe last fire. A fair warning, if settlement alarms are enabled power regulator removal will trigger alarm and spawn angry NPCs. Be sure to disable alarms from CMD center. But then the mission won't be completed.

If it’s selling the regulator you want to do then why do the mission , what with all the taxi-time?
In any case the selling price for regulators seems to have been nerfed. I saw a YouTube video where the Cmdr got 100,000 Cr for each regulator, stack those puppies and you are minted! But I tried that yesterday and the selling price was 5,000 Cr, checked several stations and that was the going rate.
