Elite roleplay: The docks

THE DOCKS (Dockyards)

The Docks is where all pilots berth their ships. It is the first place that pilots find themselves upon landing their ship. Docking and launching is controlled by the Citi Gateway’s Traffic Controllers while each individual dock is controlled by a dockmaster and a team of orange clad dock crew workers.

The Docks is a sparse and desolate, 0.1G environment, littered with service vehicles, cranes and landing pads. While cool, the air is dry and lightly filled with the smell of burnt metal and ship grease. Public Service Announcements blare across the the docks reminding all pilots of station regulations. The docks contain 45 individual ship docks, several warehouses storing massive tank of hydrogen fuel, and standard shipping containers of cargo, the dock’s traffic control tower and the local pilot’s market which resides in one of the warehouses.

Ship docks
Each specific dock has a landing pad, a ship hangar and adjoining terminal. In each terminal there is a passenger waiting area, the dockmaster’s control tower and several dock crew vehicle bay.

Warehouses
If the docks were already unpopulated, warehouses would be completely vacant of anyone if not for a small handful of security staff. Warehouses are completely automated and highly guarded facilities as they contain massive amounts of valuable and flammable material.
"Loitering is a crime punishable by death" - Station Announcements

Pilot's Market
The pilot’s market is best described as a tourist trap for pilots. Every person who’s not a pilot is trying to guile a pilot to part with their credits.

"The station administrators would like to remind all pilots that transactions in the pilot’s market are not protected by Citi Gateway or The Bank of Zaonce" - station announcements

General Roleplay Etiquette:

1. Control only the actions of your own character(s). (AKA: God Mode)
This doesn't matter how small the action is, even if it is as simple as scratching their nose or a direct reaction to something else that just happened. This applies to everything from casual conversation to full blown fight scenes. If you'd like someone to do something specific, PM that person, however keep in mind they are completely within their rights to say no. Especially if said action is inappropriate to their character and/or circumstance.

2. Don't brute force your way into another persons RP.
Approaching with a conversation starter is fine, or indeed some other small action. However charging in, guns blazing and disrupting the flow of another person/pair/groups conversation/arc is about as rude as doing so in real life. If something is going on that you'd like to participate in, be subtle about it. Put out a gentle hook for someone to take, but again, be aware that said hook may not be taken. If you fear it was simply unnoticed, PM the person or people it concerns. Or even leave a message in the OOC forums.

3. Good grammar and spelling is preferred.
We're not asking you to be perfect, but please at least demonstrate willingness. no1 iz gna tak u srsly usng txt spk. There's a wide variety of people here, many who speak English as a second, or even third language. There are even some with varying degrees of dyslexia and/or likely other issues that affect spelling/grammar. We accept them all here. However, people who aren't accepted, are those unwilling to accept polite correction. Remember that even a small thing like the placement of a comma, or the wrong use of there/their/they're can completely change the definition of an entire sentence.

4. Accept constructive criticism gracefully and politely.
If someone spots an issue with your writings, they may wish to help you improve that writing. They may do this through PM or even publicly air their thoughts on the OOC forum. If they have taken the time to be polite and explain what is wrong with your writing, the best way to behave is to respond in kind, using the same manner they have approached you with. It means they have taken an active interest in what you have written and wish to see more. Basically, you have a fan!

5. Don't take the actions or opinions of things done IN RP, to be directly relevant to the writers thoughts or opinions.
Basically, if some ones character calls your character a jackass, it doesn't mean the writer thinks you are a jackass. It's a ROLE they are PLAYING. Watch a movie. The argument between the characters isn't an argument between the actors involved. The same applies here.

6. It's not a popularity contest.
Your RP might be bustling with participants. You have 3 people off station in a fire fight, while another 2 are infiltrating the darkest areas of the station, meanwhile a group of 4 others are tracking your movements in an effort to stop you. Good for you, I'm sure it will be a thrilling read! But you know what? Sometimes the absolute BEST work, comes from two RP characters having a simple heart to heart. Both are valid, both are great, but NEITHER is categorically better than the other. Period.

Inara RP Etiquette:

1. Respect the setting and rules of the universe.
Inara is an Elite: Dangerous 3rd Party Tool. The RP Forums are set in the Elite: Dangerous universe. Elite: Dangerous has rules, as any fictional universe does from Lord of the Rings to Star Wars, or Game of Thrones to Star Trek. If you intend to RP within the Elite: Dangerous universe you are bound by the history and rules of that universe. Simply put, this RP forum is bound by the same rules as the game, so if it can't be done in the game, it is not permitted here. This applies to things from a 50Ly Jump Range on a normal, unmodified Sidewinder, to the destruction of entire stations.

2. Respect the characters created by others.
We have a wide variety of characters already here. It's expected that some will be similar, just as it's expected that two characters will be vastly different. Opinions of each persons character will naturally be varied, but all are valid provided they follow the rules of the universe. You are allowed to interact with, or avoid interaction with, any character in the RP forums. But you have no right to belittle others for their creation. You are not an authority figure on writing, nor are you directly affected by another persons imagination. You might not like it, but you MUST respect it.

3. Be caught up on current events before joining in.
You need basic things like character descriptions in order to interact with them. You also need to know what's going on in the surrounding areas. This is simply because the people you are hoping to RP with, might be gearing up to something that you might not want to be part of. Or simply that the most recent post, out of context, could leave a different impression on the goings on than if you gather that context. We don't expect you to read every single post from the beginning of the forums, just enough to get that basic understanding.

4. Either subscribe to, or frequently check, the Roleplay: Q&A and OOC forum.
People may be discussing something relevant to you there, or even discussing you directly. Perhaps someone asked what the general consensus on the existence or non-existence of a certain object. Or we're just chatting about random gibberish. Either way, be aware of it and use it. If you're unsure about something, such as how guns would look and or behave, or even the music selection, use the OOC forum to ask. We don't have all of the answers, but the collective knowledge and logic usually allows us to overcome an issue and come to a decision on what should be allowed. Frontier Developments, and even David Braben himself, don't have the answers to every possible question that can be asked.

5. Large Scale events exploding out of nowhere are a complete no go.
We get it. Everyone wants their character to be noticed and for people to be tripping over themselves to interact with them. In some audiences, an introduction involving you blasting in for landing in a fiery wreckage of a ship, before cart wheeling out and sword fighting 35 Ninjas before whisking off with the local celebrity for a glorious night of passion, is in fact, cool. This is not one of those audiences. It is generally considered better to build your character up slowly over time. Eventually, you might even have a legitimate excuse to fight those Ninjas. Maybe even with other RP participants by your side.

6. Perfect characters are boring.
The point of a character arc, is that it is in fact, an arc shape. One who is morally unquestionable, fully kitted out and an infinite fountain of knowledge, cannot go through an arc. Give your character flaws. Be it a tendency towards befriending the wrong people, or a bad knee that frequently gives out at inopportune moments. It gives readers something to latch onto and empathise with. You can give your character exceptional capabilities at something, but it requires balance. She's a damn good pilot with no equal, but can't drive an SRV for peanuts. It can lead to some very interesting moments between characters, be it heartfelt or comedic.

Other Notes:
It should be noted that there can be exceptions to these points. For example, good grammar when a character is speaking is actually rare. Few people in real life actually speak with perfect eloquence after all. Or previously arranged actions during a fight scene, such as someone stumbling back after a punch. What's key to remember is context.

All in all, remember this is purely for fun. We have some seriously talented writers here, and others whose writing history starts and ends at high school. But many are willing to help out in whatever way they can. All it takes is that you ask nicely.

Also keep in mind that many people who RP here, also have logbook stories related to the character, or characters, they portray. If it looks like there's an "in joke" going on that you're unsure of, it's probably in those.

In fact, some users have even gone to the trouble of creating "alts" to RP with. If you read back far enough, it's usually pretty clear who has and hasn't, and which ones are the "alts". It's therefore not unheard of to see the apparent seizing of control of other characters. If you do spot one, point it out in the OOC section. If intervention is needed, it will be sorted quickly and (hopefully) politely.

Most, if not all RP participants here have Logbook stories pertaining to their character(s). These are for the reading pleasure of anyone who wishes to do so. While it can be useful to read them in order to gain a bit of backstory on a character you wish to interact with, it should not be assumed that your character shares that knowledge. Within the E:D Universe, these Logbooks either don't exist, or are private diaries kept by the characters. Either way, without explicit statements to say otherwise from the writer, your interactions should reflect that your character is in the dark about any information you, the writer/reader, have gained from reading the stories.

It took my brain another while to figure out how to say what I wanted to, and I had a no less than concerned look on my face when I started speaking.

“It’s… it’s still about that stuff with the… spires.”

I let air out through my nose while lowering my head, with eyes closed, though it sounded more like a sigh.

“You know what I… am. What is happebibg to… me.” A hinting, elongated look at my right hand which had gone into a fist, again. “And what I told you about those spires, how it looks like humans can go around them. I just… I don’t know where things are going to go for me.”

I wanted to look her in the eyes, but just couldn’t, keeping them loosely focused on the floor instead.

“I don’t know what the Thargoids wanted with me, keeping me alive where I should just have… died. But, those towers… they … it says things to me.”

My head abruptly moved up. Not to the point of being qualified as snapping, but it was a quick movement nonetheless. And there was a very clear sound of distress in my voice, equal signs showing across my different facial features.

“I don’t want to be used against us. I don’t want to harm people at… at their will. I don’t want to be used to harm you. Please, if… if that ever happens… do what you can to get me back. And if you can’t turn me back… kill me. Promise me you will.”

That was a lot deeper than I had originally intended for it to be, but it was like the floodgates holding that fear in were no longer able to restrain it, after seeing the way those particular sections of the spire sites were designed.

"Oh, shit...", I exhaled heavily, letting the cigarette smoke out into the vents. "Okay, listen."

I took a deep breath.

"You know who I am. You know what I do. What kind of organisation I serve in, and I serve willingly, not because they pay me. Almost none of us serve solely to get paid, from junior techs and cargo handlers to the top command on our carriers. If these... things turn out to be dangerous to humanity... I will be there, to make sure they will try to harm me, because I know how to fight back, instead of random Joe and Jane who don't. And there will be hundreds of people like me, and we won't stop until we rip that place to shreds."

Finishing what was left of my cigarette after the speech created a pause to let the words settle in. Dumping the stub into the recycler, I took the second one right after, getting back to the place where I sat.

"And that has no connection to you. That's what I do. Willingly. That's what we all do, putting ourselves between humanity and the Thargoids, buying those researchers at Aegis and other organisations time to come up with something that will end the war. By weapons or by diplomacy or whatever, I don't care, this shit has to stop. And the more fire we draw onto ourselves, the less people suffer."

I shook my head and scowled, not exactly sure what else to say.

"Let Aegis protect you. It's... it's the most disgusting crap with all those brain voices and intrusive thoughts, it's hard to tell what's yours and what's theirs. Who has the upper hand when you make another decision. Hells, if things are getting that bad, you may even ask someone to lock you up in a room, so that you won't harm yourself or someone else. Get yourself some stuff to have entertainment, like that VR thingy, make sure there's a voice connection so you won't be alone, and let that shit to pass safely. Believe me, that... helps."
20 Oct 2023, 2:33pm
I shook my head.

“No, no… that’s not… that’s not how I meant it.”

I breathed in. Then out. Trying to sort the chaos in my head out, between the awful sound of the hive.

“I am still… me, now. But if… for any reason, because they somehow managed to take me again, or… I’m just worried about what’s going to happen. What they intend for me. Does it have to do with those towers? Is that what they wanted me for?”

I shook my head again.

“Sorry, I just… I can’t think in a straight line about this. About how much longer I’ll manage to be in control. Why they let me go, or how I managed to get away… they might change me more if they take me again. Or something might happen that they… somehow, get me. This body… I just want to know that someone will stop me from causing harm if they manage to get me again. Take me back. And that I won’t have to …”

I sighed. I just couldn’t make that request again, to be killed if I can’t be returned to my former self, should I ever fall under the Thargoids’ control.

“I’ve already stayed with them. Aegis. For… the last month, at their headquarters. But then, I saw… something happen, at those sites where the towers are. I never did before, not at the time where knowing was… important, or at the right time. Something about them is… different.”

I fell silent for a moment, at least glad someone was available to listen to this for me.

“Going there was a mistake. I shouldn’t have done it.”

Wild Jim Gruden“Hey, boss! You there? I brought the party supplies!“

"Jim, how about we talk first, yes?" Asked a man equally as tall and well put together as Wild Jim.

Jørn had stood, then stepped forwards before addressing his question. He hadn't been hiding, he had been sat in a position where people going to and from the Python didn't tend to look. His rune covered axe made it clear at a glance that he was with the men that had attacked Willow. His weapon was only maglocked on his back right now because of the lack of gravity. The rifle next to it, and his pistols in belt holsters were still easy to draw, but his body language suggested he wasn't looking for a fight right now.

"I wanted to see who it was that killed my men, yes" he said in a heavy Swedish accent, nodding approvingly at Jim.

Kasumi Goto“Going there was a mistake. I shouldn’t have done it.”

I nodded silently, made a few drags of a fresh cigarette and responded in a quiet tone, subconsciously, even being perfectly aware that nobody could hear us. Maybe I still think that makes words sound more 'private', told by soul to soul, rather than a reply that was made just for sake of replying.

"That's why all that 'lock yourself in a room' thing might be more helpful than you think. And, as far as my strategical awareness goes, there's no place safer than Aegis headquarters at the moment. You were right to go there in the first place."

I stared through the cockpit canopy, my eyes unfocused, for a little while, then proceeded with more 'normal' voice.

"Bugs, theoretically, can appear almost anywhere. Yet, for some reason, they aren't cruising across our core systems causing chaos. Whatever the reason is, I hope it's somehow connected to our efforts: if they appear, they... disappear. Real quick. Unless it's a Titan or a massive incursion. The former takes time to travel and appear, the latter seems to be too expensive to try catching one particular person, even for them. In short... If you're with us, with Aegis, you're safe. They aren't going to lose dozens, hundreds of ships on trying to reach you, or Seo, knowing that you both could slip away, it's easier for them to get a couple of random Joes."

Making a pause, I sighed and got back to the cigarette, which have been smouldering trapped between my index and middle fingers.

"I can promise that if they try to get you again, or even succeed, I'll be the first to volunteer for a rescue mission. What I can't promise though is getting to know of it in time. Like, you could tell Aegis about me, but I think they have their own equally skilled, or even better, pilots. And I can't ask you to send me messages about your plans or whereabouts on a timer, that thing... Sucks."

I shrugged, making a conclusion.

"At least you're now deadly sure going there was a mistake. Issue resolved, you're not going to do that again, and if you find yourself thinking... You know what to do. Instruct someone not to let you."

I buried my head in my hands for a moment, as if to give myself time to work through… the statement, emotions, whatever else was going through my brain right now. Somewhere, at some point, I’d also pulled my legs up to my body, as if to form a defensive or ‘safe’ position of some kind.

“I didn’t go there because it… told me to. That thing in my head. I just… saw something was off with the matrix sites and… felt like I needed to go there and see what was going on for myself. With an escort. But I didn’t know I’d find… that.”

I chose to show Meowers two pictures of what I had seen at the spires, one of them being me standing in front of what looked like a control panel, but actually was some kind of storage container.

I sighed, and shut off the wrist computer again, which had been laying on the ground after I took off my jacket.

“I just… I needed to let this out. There’s no coincidence these… these things look so friendly to humans. And it felt… far too welcoming and safe, up there, even if I was getting shot at by those Revenants and that Banshee thing on the ground. And if they realize they could use me for this …”

I fell silent again, if only for a moment.

“I don’t want to talk about this more. I just wanted to get my mind off this stupid shit and how I could find myself eventually directing that Thargoid shitstorm against us.”

I shook my head with my eyes closed, corners of my mouth drawn upward in light amusement at the image formed in my head.

“The only positive is that it’s only a figurative shitstorm. I’ll be returning to their headquarters after this, but just… needed a break. After seeing those spires… you can guess.”

I breathed deeply.

“Wasn’t just because of the Thargoids that I decided to go back to their HQ. You can guess that Azimuth and their continued idiocy are another reason for it. If it wasn’t for them, I wouldn’t have to hide behind that hood.”

My right arm gestured in the direction of my personal cabin, where I had left it - as, in here, there was no need for me to wear it.
20 Oct 2023, 4:26pm
"Yeah, these do look like something... Thargoid'ish, yet for some reason designed to be used by humans... Or humanoids. Or whoever else of comparable size and walking on surface, not flying or whatever," I inspected the pictures closely, leaning forward. My eyes ran side to side and top to down trying to catch something familiar, yet the effort wasn't successful. "Guardians had more or less humanoid shape and comparable sizes. Yet nobody had seen relics like this dating to their war. It might be something... Specific, and new."

I leaned back, getting to my ordinary sitting-with-legs-crossed-in-front posture and finished the cigarette, listening to Kasumi. Nodding after every sentence, I replied then.

"And thank you for telling me. If my presence makes you feel safe, then I'm doing something right, something I should be doing. I understand that you want to close that topic, so... My last comments on that. First, I believe your words your own free will and decision to go there, the noise might've changed and you wanted to figure out why. So, you saw this. Maybe they're luring you, making you feel safe and 'at home' there, maybe not, who knows. But you realised you shouldn't do that anymore. That's a friggin' trick, a part of their stupid mind games. Second... If all that keeps unnerving you, I might as well escort you to Duamta. Not that I'm expecting stuff to happen or suspect you of something... You might want to feel less alone."

Shrugging slowly, I went silent, waiting for reply.

“I’ll… I’ll be fine on the way back. It’s …”

I paused. Where did I want to go with this?

“I haven’t been bothered by the Thatgoids outside of the war zone. At worst, it’s going to be some idiot from Azimuth if they even realize it’s me. And them, well, won’t be many ships that can catch this Phantom. Goes nearly six-hundred with a boost.”

I ran a hand across the floor, as if to show my appreciation of that fact alone. Then I switched to a … different, behavior, for just a moment, to completely close off the Thargoid topic.

“You know that… if they catch me, and you come for a rescue, it probably won’t be me waiting, right?”
20 Oct 2023, 5:37pm
"Then they leave me no choice," I grinned and spread my arms, "Either they put your own wits back into your kettle, or I'll find whoever responsible for that and punch its green face so hard and for so long its own brain will leak out of its butthole."

"Ah, hells. We're living in quite an interesting times. Though, there's one thing to cheer: we're, well, living. Others aren't so successful."

"Speaking of Azimuth though... I'm finally free from the official mumbo-jumbo regarding what we've done on that creepy carrier and what we've found there. Been thoroughly debriefed, my actions and my absence for those few days were deemed justified and moreover outstanding, so I'm back at more or less normal schedule and could use that VR thingy for both purposes: 'mine' and 'ours', having some free hours more."
20 Oct 2023, 5:52pm
"And I was about to ask what you have in mind for that 'idea' you mentioned."

I moved into a cross-legged position, now that I no longer needed the safe, curled up ball of protection, also trying to ignore that urge to mention how making me, 'me' again, if the Thargoids used the implant to control me, wouldn't be as simple as punching one in the face.

"What are you gonna to with that data, anyway? You, as in, your... superiors, squad, or... whatever. I'd guess make it public, but that idiot Torben is just going to claim some bullshit about how it's a rogue division or some dumb, asinine nonsense like that. Just like he conveniently ignore the mercs that attacked Seo in an attempt to capture her, and totally weren't related at all even though it was within three jump distance for even a Fer-de-Lance, to their Bubble headquarters."

I flicked a - the - finger somewhere in a random direction, since I had no clue where from here Mbooni was. The gesture itself was what mattered, anyway. Then I ran both hands across my face.

"Oh, I'm gonna have some shitty dreams about those spires. And I won't even be able to blame that link to the Thargoids for it."

Jørn The Barbarian "Jim, how about we talk first, yes?" Asked a man equally as tall and well put together as Wild Jim.

“So, they were some of your fellas, “ said Jim. He set the duffels in his hand on the deck and shrugged off the ones on his shoulders in case violence erupted. Even with all of his gear except a pistol and a knife in the bags, Jim did not feel vulnerable being unarmored and outgunned. He was more disappointed in himself for not paying attention to his surroundings. That kind of amateur crap can get you killed.

“They were tough bastards. Put up a damn good fight.” He indicated Jørn’s axe with a quick nod. “Hell, one of those nearly took my arm off. But I suppose you’re not here to talk about that. From what the Valkyrie has told me, I’m guessing you have a problem with what she’s doing.”

"Yeah," I nodded, "our detective branch folks are currently filtering out any useful stuff. You know, to highlight another brown stain on Azimuth's poopypants. Not a big surprise, finding them cooperating with slavers, yet a bit more to publish. We will send that to authorities, to Aegis, even to show influencers, since there may be some of their agents out there, either Azimuth or slaver squad, on the loose, undercover, and that info could help with pinpointing them."

"And, you're right."

Another cigarette appeared in my hands.

"Shitty dreams. I'm so fucking, bloody, inhumanly tired of them. Meds don't work. At least in the dosage I can take being... Unsupervised. So bloody annoying, like, almost every time I close my eyes, I see shit. Going to sleep? See some shit. Tired and want to take a nap? See some shit again. Fuck," and last few words were said in an upset, spitting, disappointed tone.

I made a long drag of smoke and continued.

"Everything else got better during the last year, but some essential stuff like memory and sleeping have gone out of the airlock completely. It's like... I'm drifting off, and, being somewhere in between, I'm starting to feel those creeping in... Are they emotions? Hells. I don't know. But I don't want to have them anymore, I'm not there anymore. Fuck. I even tried... Screaming in my sleep. As loud as it's possible for me. Hoping I'd make a sound and it wakes me up. Of-fuckin-course it didn't work, but you don't have many options when asleep. So I'm trying, trying and trying. See, I don't feel rested after this, obviously, and the fatigue is slowly grinding me down. Aaaah, shite..."

Making a 'finger-pistol', I aimed it at my temple and imitated the shot by lowering the thumb and tilting the head with my eyes squeezed shut.

"So, the idea... That VR should pull you out once it detects a neural pattern corresponding to being asleep. Slowly, to let you sleep 'naturally' until you wake up in your real body. And, well... I want to remove this failsafe. And rig the thing to an external power supply to make it run indefinitely, so I'll sleep as long as I need to regenerate. Also, before pulling that off, I'll try to record a pattern that equals seeing shit in my sleep, and make an 'alert condition' of my own. So it could either wake me up or calm me down. Doing some research at the moment, seems like it's possible... Could be a life-changer, you know?"

Making a sarcastic grin, I shrugged... With a little hint of desperation in that gesture.
20 Oct 2023, 7:59pm
“You let me know how that idea works out for you. I’m not sure I could get such a thing to work with, uh, the stuff in my head. Part of it is just nightmares because of that damn noise in my head, and I don’t think a VR device could help. Hell, I’ll probably have enough trouble getting the thing to work as it is, since my brain’s only half-human as it is.”

I paused, if only to take a breath.

“And speaking of getting it to work, how about we give those things a try soon? It’d be a good distraction from all things Thargoid. Or just from the world. Same plan as we made out before we went on that carrier and nearly blew up with it?”

"Valkyrie? Why do you call her this?" asked Jørn raising an eyebrow, idly stroking his long beard. "No, never mind for now, yes?" he interrupted raising his had "I tell you this, so you listen"

"She brings in cargo, and goes behind the back of the buyers, ok. Her old man tells everybody in his empire he will pay more of such small deliveries, and they too sell without the buyers, but now station security want to look at so many ships, yes?"

Jørn opened his hands and spread his arm gesturing you 'see my problem'

"The buyers, they tell me to fix it, I offer her money, she will not answer. I offer her old man money, he takes it, but she still runs cargo and ignores the buyers, so they hire their own people because I can't deal with one little girl, yes?"

Jørn started rocking on his heals. He looked like he wanted to pace, and clench his fists, but he was controlling his anger.

"Money I have, your girl can have money, but now she has cost me lives" He stopped rocking and pointed a finger at Jim. "Life should not be spent like credits, yes? It is valuable" he finished, staring directly into Jim's eyes as if challenging him to dispute his stament.

"She stops making problems I must fix, I stop making the girl problems. Easy fix, yes? And my last bloodless offer. Talk to her, then we talk about you, joining me building a new way of life here, where the governments are too afraid to tread because of the aliens, yes?"

Not quite turning his back on Jim, Jørn made for the elevators.

"You should be a leader of men, yes? Not a dog set on your master's target"

Kasumi Goto“And speaking of getting it to work, how about we give those things a try soon? It’d be a good distraction from all things Thargoid. Or just from the world. Same plan as we made out before we went on that carrier and nearly blew up with it?”

I smirked and went to drop another cigarette stub into the waste processor. Once I returned, I sat on the floor again, slowly clapped my hands and rubbed them against each other with a quiet sound, still wearing that determined smirk on my face.

"Precisely. I'll try my sleeping hack and then send you a message regarding the results that also could serve as a signal. Still have one day completely free of any... Service-related stuff. So I might as well sleep it through. No shit's going to stop me now. Mwahahaha!"

Letting out a theatrical-maniacal laughter, I kept that act for a few seconds and returned to 'being normal', well, as much as it's possible in my case.

"So, yeah, same plan. This thing might get a bit... finicky in your case though, but since you have the same 'inputs and outputs', like human senses, and human limbs, in their general configuration, I guess... It will be fine."
