Elite roleplay: Q&A and OOC

Oh... thanks for the help guys.

And this is why all my limbs are still flesh and bone.

In all honesty I wasn't planning on having any cybernetics myself, but I had forgotten my character design had a faded eye, and being a pilot with a bad eye is never a good thing.

We all make mistakes. Just look at my jukebox escapade from earlier lol

I would also propose that any transmission device housed inside material that would protect from an emp, would not be able to transmit through that material as transmission carrier waves are a form electromagnitism in themselves.

thats why you have the transmitting antenna outside the shielding.

Anna Reidthats why you have the transmitting antenna outside the shielding.

Yes, but an antenna is a point where low yield electromagnetic transmissions are eminated from. They can and are susceptible to feedback from incoming electromagnetic transmission. The high electromagnetic charge from an emp would travel back along that antenna, and fry the circuitry anyway.

This is all based on the assumption that such transmissions are being done conventionally anyway. In 3302, who knows what forms of exotic carrier waves are being used? Subspace frequencies? Quantum telemetry? I'm going off what's in my head cannon.

And I'm just sitting here thinking about what the cyborg would look like with a giant antenna popping out of the center of her head.

Hey ya', quick question that's probably been asked before, but I couldn't find anything using search or google (not even sure this is the right place to ask, sorry), but ...how do I add a Dossier section to my Commander's Overview page whatnot? Cheers!

There's an option at the bottom when you create a new log.

I am enjoying watching the stories play out between characters. Just looking for a good time to jump in and thinking how to introduce my character into it all.

Keep up the tales Commanders

The bar is usually the best place to start anything. There's no rule saying you have to document every action from dropping out of Supercruise, docking, then riding the lift to Citi Gateway etc, especially if nothing interesting is happening... Luke (one of my characters) just popped up in the bar one day and it was fine.

If you want to save yourself time trying to describe your character in the RP forums, most of us have a character Biography where anyone you interact with can look over and get an overview of what your character is like. It prevents confusion as well as makes it easier to understand him/her.

Fair warning, I'm sure you've seen it already, but don't decide on a big event out of the blue. Especially if it affects characters around you who aren't involved.

I've read over your story for Lilith and kinda feel some level of sympathy for her. I do have a little bit of story for him but his appearance never really came into it. All I can imagine is he wears a white shirt with an empire emblem on the shoulder and he wears a leather jacket over it to avoid trouble from Feds. He is a trader but has dabbled in bounty hunting when he has been called upon.

Firstly, I thank you for reading mine, and the fact you have some sympathy for her is a great compliment. I must have done something right after all, so thank you very much.

With regards to appearance, it doesn't need to be an exhaustive breakdown that includes every hair strand, mole and freckle. Just obvious things like, what he's wearing, is he clean shaven or big bushy beard? Dark hair? Blonde hair? Bald? How well built is he?

Not all of this needs to be decided beforehand. But it's easier for someone to initiate an interaction if they have something to go on.
For example:
"Luke approached the man sat in the booth" is very vague and gives no indication of which man. It literally could be anyone, from Stryker, to Locke, maybe even Cartlidge. Or it might even be soneone else not yet mentioned.

But if there's a feature or two to latch on to:
"Luke approached the well built man, taking note of his cybernetic claw and rippling muscles." I hope anyone up to date will be aware exactly who he's approaching. (Stryker, for those who don't).

That said, it doesn't have to be a physical description if you haven't locked down on something in particular. It can be an action that he does when sitting down.

There's no pressure to get it perfect. But if you need inspiration, just read through the existing RP and see what you like or don't like.
