I, for one, am disappointed at the lack of shit-faced RP in the bar.

Get on it, commanders!

Well I am too busy getting shitfaced on my home world.

I know I am new here, and no offence. But, the helmet emote thing, is breaking immersion for me. I am having a hard time understanding why a grown man in a seedy bar would resort to using something that on the best of days, I would considered immature. It would be one thing, if he was using it to actually paint himself as silly. But that's not the sense I've been getting from the role-play.

Apart from that it's a pretty obvious rip off from Borderlands Zer0 ^^

The main problem is that it makes absolutely zero sense in the setting of Elite.

It's a shame INARA doesn't allow for the liking of posts.

Agreed. To both.

The line from "inspired by" to "transplanted without regard to if it makes sense or not" is a very fine one. And we don't want you to stop RPing or drawing inspiration from outside sci-fi universes, but I, too would have a hard time taking anyone with the emoji visor seriously.

It doesn't really break immersion for me, but then again I quite like Daft Punk irl.

My character has never heard of Daft Punk, however. Her opinion might not be so forgiving.

Such helmets or visors might appeal to a certain demographic in the 34th century - probably younger, well-to-do types who are just absolute social butterflies... or something.

I could work with that.

I didn't mean to start world war 3.

My apologies.

No need to apologize, I think it's a good topic for discussion.

It is. Bluntly-worded critical feedback once stopped me from making a terrible, cringy mistake during a Thing collab one time.

Luckily, I excel at bluntly-worded critical feedback.

Nobody gets to be a better writer without some critical feedback from others, so pointing things out if they need to be pointed out is important.

Exactly. And I felt that it was important to share that tidbit because I understand how constructive criticism from strangers can come off sometimes, especially if one is new at writing or to a particular community.
