Elite roleplay: Q&A and OOC

The real kicker was this. So the ship in the game is about 50 feet lengthwise right (That's 14 or so meters for you non-American folk)? And my model representing it is about a foot in length.
Let's pretend that this "—" mark is the total length of the Taipan okay?
When I compared the how big an Anaconda model would have to be to fit the same ratio, I got this:

The Anaconda is 500 feet, or 152.4 meters long.
I would need to build a scale model 12 feet long! XD

Haha, yes! The ship scale in Elite is surprising. A few weeks ago I finally realized that a medium landing pad is roughly the same size as an (American) football field - goal post to goal post - at which point my ships suddenly felt a whole lot bigger.
