Elite roleplay: Q&A and OOC

Also true, but I'm willing to ignore that because it's hilarious. Besides, a No-Fire policy doesn't necessarily mean no hardpoints deployed.

I mean, making a run for it is fine... But how does the fighter get into the closed hanger bay (Marra had the landing pad lowered remember) and how does the fighter bay deploy on a landed Anaconda? (The belly is far too close to the ground).

Either way note to self... Don't ask Marra for so much as a glass of water...

Thats true, but a deployed hardpoint is easier to slip and take an accidental shot.

The fighter is not in the closed bay, just sort of swooping around above it, watching Idris, as far as the fighter bay is concerned, valid point. For some reason in my head I always saw it capable of clearance but now that you bring it up lol. If it's any consolation I have two fighterbays? Lol.

insert minor detail of anaconda lifting landing pads and ascending slightly enough for just the right amount of clearance? My bad

It is, at which point "No more Anaconda" XD

I was also wondering about all that.

Would a fighter circling around inside the flight tube, also be considered loitering? I would imagine that it too would have the same time limit to land, or dock or whatever?

Added: furthermore, would the newly deployed fighter be considered trespassing?

It would be bizarre on many levels if station Authority came to Marra's aid.

"So, no sugar?" Marcus pauses... "Well how about that meal then Marra?" He squawks as he systematically checks all his instruments in an effort to mitigate any potential threats. Marcus sets a nav beacon for the closest hyper jump away, his hand resting on the actuation switch for a speedy escape just in case things go south.

Just a heads up:  ship-launched fighters don't have frameshift drives.

I need to try this out somehow...

Marcus deploying hardpoints in response to Idris' threat makes a lot of sense to me as far as Marcus is concerned.  He seems gloriously reckless.  Only real way to get the advantage, I think, considering Idris.  I do see there was miscommunication there... but it's more interesting to have them deployed.  And fun!

And besides, considering the obvious response if Virtue did open fire, sacrificing yourself is technically a valid tactic, if only single serving.

I have never once been penalized for leaving the station (loitering). They've tried, but I've spent a great deal of time in the loading area practicing quick roll-esque maneuvers (practicing ways to slow down in a loading area while boosting in silent running on less than agile ships.

If we are going to be super technical, if an eagle can do reverse rolls into a dock and fly backwards to a landing pad hitting most everything on his way in, with a hull down to 3%, I think a touch and go, defensive holding pattern, in station is acceptable acrobatics until someone does get pissy and tries to tack on a fine or what have you. Technically slf's can't be in stations at all, but like some of the other creative liberties we've allowed in RP I figured it might be acceptable.

As far as the frame shift is concerned,  activating FS from an SLF is possible, it would mean either docking before the ship enters hyper/fs, or sacrificing the fighter. I'd say Marcus is equally concerned about clearing his ship of dangers as he is being in a formidable position in the event of an oncoming attack, and he wouldn't think twice about trying some crazy stunt where he times his docking to his  mothership with the charge of an FSD, that or ejecting if he couldn't make it- just as long as ship and cargo are secure he's willing to take some fines, bruises, and or spend some credits to get back to his ship by other means.

I mean, if on Phisto's shoulder is acceptable means of transportation to Marcus, sketchy spf deployment is a no brained

Also for the record, I'm not opposed to bad shit happening- impoundment, blown up ship (actually have an anaconda im selling in game to upgrade to my cutter), confiscated pink slip or cargo- so by all means interject. If some of this stuff is too off base to warrant station response, open to that as well. Marcus is exactly the type of person that fixes one problem by creating another, and chasing that vicious cycle down the long road of hoping for that one very large and permanent score or solution.

Smart guy yes, realistic? Not by any means.
