Have you ever just took a look at the pictures in the mission boards?
It's just redicoulous. Weird glasses, Weird makeup, weird hairstyles. 1/100th minor faction is represented by a decently dressed person.
But never, Ever have I seen an NPC woman with long hair...
Honestly, I'd rather live in a universe where the fashion style is dominated by beards and cyborg eyes than Elite's current fashion standards....

I once saw an NPC with long hair.
It. Was. HYSTERICAL. It looked like they got one of the default models, made it bald and then did the shittest photoshop job imaginable. I spent like 20 laughing at how out of place her hair looked compared to the rest of the image.
sadly I forgot to get a screenshot so I've no proof of this other than my word.

I mean in my mind, it sorta plays out like a modern day redneck. "You see, there was the flying flower thing, and it spun around shooting yellow light at me, and then it picked me up with its mind powers and shook me all around...."
