Anna ReidMate, its a brothel. You don't go to a brothel for a drink and to look. That's liable to get you tossed out.
since when is it a crime to look at the menu hmmm.

Ever since it became painfully obvious that people who refer to it like that have never been to a brothel and likely have no business in one?

SMGDH man I've got work to do no wonder I gave up RP writing years back. No room for creative free thinking. This place has a similar funk to a battlestar fourm i used to toy around in. I've got a multi million dollar bounty to rack up boi. Then you can paint me a vicious war criminal that slays little piggies and drinks the blood of puppies.

One tall pupper blood, thanks.

I'm not quite sure how these two things are related? Am I missing something?

Indeed, my first response to that post, is 'What?'

All you writers out there, I'm debating introducing a new character at some point. I'm thinking he might be a CQC Tournament hotshot who gained an honorary PF membership.
Few questions though.

Firstly, Would that be lore friendly or is CQC only accessible by PF members?

Are there any established names from the books I should know about?

Is it acceptable to create such a character or would that be considered too 'snowflakey' and/or unreasonable?

I would guess there is a link given the number of fighter pilots in the crew lounge who say they started off in CQc, plus in Premonition Raan Corsen is an office worker not a pilot and is doing CQC so based on that I *guess* that CQC is a route into the PF as it seems clear that you don't have to be a PF member to do CQC.

I haven't read any of the books, so all my Elite knowledge comes from the game and the Elite wiki. But someone please correct my headcanon: I thought CQC was an in-game, in-universe simulation people access, like their take on a video game? Or is it more like a flight simulator a real pilot would use to work on skills without risking a plane?

According to Premonition and the official lore, it's more like the ultimate flight sim that both entertains and drive Federal Navy pilot recruitment.

So, for instance, an average schlub like Steve the Citi Gateway Stevedore would be lost trying to walk into it without a modicum of flying ability, does that sound right?

I'd imagine that there's a learning curve.

Let me put it this way... it took me a week to be able to dock well in training, let alone the combat stuff. I hadn't seriously played anything flight sim or space sim like in years. I think it'd be similar if not worse.

The difference is that with simulators, there's no consequence for failure. If CQC is a sim - which Premonition seems to say that it is - then people who have no flying experience can probably spend plenty of time mastering the basics of flight and combat in a safe environment.

Which is why it's such a great recruiting tool, I imagine.

Of course... with telepresence, why recruit for the navy at all? Why not just the gamers of the Federation into battle against the Thargoids from the safety of their living rooms?

It was good of Drew to ignore TP.
