Elite roleplay: Q&A and OOC

Hey man, rock and roll will never die!

Hey, I'm not saying Luke listens EXCLUSIVELY to 20/21st Century Rock, just that anything that causes hallucinations or unexpected feelings of euphoria are a seriously bad idea to play in a cockpit =P

Also, what Phisto said ;-)

More seriously though, I'm getting images of that weird flute thing in Futurama now. Dunno if anyone here knows what it is I'm on about, it's the instrument Fry plays and it conjures up an image above it as a sort of, holo-vid, where the quality depends on the skill of the person playing it. Is this the kind of feel we're hoping for?

I was hoping for that creativity musicians are supposed to have to shine through. Go with whatever you're comfortable with, I guess.

I'm just looking for a foundation on which to build on. Which you guys have provided. Thank you =)

If this was a universe I was intimately familiar with (Say, the Halo universe which really doesn't lend itself to RP as much), I'd be typing away happily. However I'm still learning and so I look to more experienced people for advice and guidelines as to how far I can take an idea without it being too outlandish or unfriendly to the lore.

It was the HoloPhoner I believe, but I'll stick to the Hugo Rune re-invented Ocarina, those extra notes do some amazing things!

Feel free to comment as you see fit and let me know what you think.

Definitely not an exhaustive list but I hope it lays a decent groundwork for me, or others, to build on. Or, you know, folk can say it's garbage and I've not done enough or too much. We'll see, I guess.

I am noting a complete lack of the Holo-Kazoo. And this makes me very angry. Why is it only instruments involved in metal rock bands make it on these futuristic lists?

I guess Kazoo haters will be haters.

Wait, Kazoos are not used in Metal?

I did say I've only done two so far. I'll do the Kazoo next ;-P

I can't speak to Kazoos, but parrots are known to front metal bands.

I can't be critical of anything anymore (or else it'll draw a "AW, JES XEK BEIN' XEK" response) but...

This is the hill you're choosing to die on?

I'll take that as a no then.

Can't blame a guy for trying. I'll know better next time.

I personally think this is a bit too specific and way to detailed.

Something like, Luke plays a stringed holo-instrument of Shamasen decent is enough.

I just like that when we choose to utilize an auto-dock module, we are not inundated with jive romps but rather serene classical.

The one I've just made up in my head looks like a plasma-globe.

The player places their fingertips on the surface and moves the right hand up and down the globe to control pitch and the left hand controls various effects like sustain and modulation.

The globe detects the heart rate and other vitals of the player and the colours of the plasma change with it, resulting in the most passionate of performances being a dazzling spectacle of light and colour.

I don't have a name for it, but if it existed I wouldn't mind having a go.
