I think this all started due to my Bio, as some had said the Fed's don't use slaves, and I had replied saying all superpower have a hidden agenda, I also made the assumption that the Fed's are a good superpower.

Imps are still Imps. thats a fact

Slavery is illegal in the Federation. Instead they use robots or simple AI machines. There is some evidence, however, that an underground slave trade exists in the Federation.

None of the superpowers are "good" or "bad". They are simply different, with their own cultures and ambitions.

I tend to believe all the superpowers have a dark side, some just darker than the others. Up to you to figure out how dark you can stand to be or just remain independent. I have no problems being independent and doing work for them as long as it fits my moral code.. what ever that is.

Kari, ur right. we all made our decisions, and we have to care about the result. in every single case.

Oh yeah, I never wanted to imply that I thought the Feds were good guys (or any of the Superpowers, for that matter) As Phisto said, good and evil are for children. Anytime you're dealing with governments on this massive of a scale, there's way too many people for it to be otherwise.

Just wanted to make sure the "Federation slavery" bit was intentional; just because the Feds do evil stuff doesn't mean they don't have laws, and as Yolanta mentioned, it's straight up illegal there. While I'm sure there are Fed systems where it exists on the down-low (just like there are Imperial systems were slavery is illegal, like those controlled by Aisling Duval for instance), that is not the implication I got from the OP's bio.

At any rate, all good, cleared up. I'm satisfied. Tons of interesting stories to be told regardless!

Not to dump on someone else's role play: no doubt there are areas within Federation space where an underground slave trade exists (even powers as great as the Empire and the Federation cannot possibly adequately police all areas under their nominal control). But the idea of slavery being carried out under the auspices of the Federation itself seems a little too outside of established lore to me.

For future reference to any/all government organizations, you need look no further than the itty bitty ones we have located on this single planet we call Earth.
Then compare that to one(s) that hold control over SEVERAL populated worlds, and magnify the same indiscretions to match those larger scales.
Really it's not far fetched at all, not even a little.
