Elite roleplay: Q&A and OOC

Lambast MercyAs with anything online, it's best to err on the side of caution. Scantily clad people are best avoided. Especially when it's such a poor cut and paste job
Even in context, I tend to get close to too violent or too much swearing, so I pull it back.
We all know its easy to offend people or give them a reason to go off on a righteous crusade about some little disagreement so I knock it down a few levels and just try to progress the story leaving tempting hooks for the people that write with me.
I'd very much like to post Lamb's "5 years ago" story, but the events I enjoy typing up do need to chill out for the less bloodthirsty reader.
If this was a strictly mature site I wouldn't hold back at all and I'd revel in the freedom to be as dirty or violent as the story demanded, but it's not, so I don't.
What's socially accepted or not can become tricky even within the same culture. Once you start working online, there's a great many cultures with different ideas of what is appropriate. What is seen as unacceptable nudity and sexually explicit vary but I find that such can often be avoided without subtracting much from a story. If your character need such cation and behaviours described then I would question the motivation to post such on an open forum for all ages. I think violence is often more accepted if you aren't overly descriptive (such as what happen to various parts of a body that should really be inside it). I'd this really required to be described to that depth for the mood of the story?
But this is not even touching on more tricky subjects. For example "The large black tarantula was slowly skittering up the sheet under which the man slept" will by some be uncomfortable, some may feel the same but find it enjoyable (people into thriller/horror for example might), while others won't bat an eyelid. Those are so broad subject that there's no social norm for what is acceptable.

As someone who is terrified of spiders. This makes my skin crawl and I personally love it.
...Spiders are yucky. If you think I'm wrong, fight me punk

Synthya WylderNerys Nymei, seeing as how you mentioned medical expertise/training in 1 of your RPs & Bio, I thought I'd ask before posting some medically-involved RP in 'The Docks' section & elsewhere. I wasn't sure if you'd posted anything elsewhere in the RPs regarding that & haven't had the time to read through them all, yet, in case that might conflict with any of your prior posts. Please let me know if there's any conflict. Thanks!
Absolutely no conflicts, Synthya, thanks for asking. The only little medical-related info until now is that currently there is a small outbreak of Hanson's Fever on HIP 8758 (more than three hundred LY away). So feel free to add whatever RP you prefer!

That's all based on at least, the 1s part of Synthya's Bio.

I know, it's a bit longer, but as it also serves as a bit of prologue I guess it could not have been prevented
As usual I'm open to constructive criticism as well as being made aware of typos or if I'm violating lore somewhere

I agree. I agree so much that even my character doesn't like spiders.

You all are getting me back to reading people's Things (official slang for logbooks, established years ago), and the on-going RP. Good Job, everyone!

Lambast MercyI enjoyed that Synthya.

Thank you! Synthya needed a plausible entrance, & since others are likely to refer to her Bio for background, it seemed the best that I based it from there.
As I wrote it, it seemed to me that there was lots of room for development.
For the RP, I'll pause to give others a chance to interact if they wish, but I have a general outline already in mind, with lots of "wiggle room".
I could write the entire story myself, ofc, but that leaves the dynamic interactive element missing.

Well, sometimes all it needs is some fresh blood to keep things fresh and being able to go on
