Elite roleplay: Q&A and OOC

I'm writing a kind of, 'action' scene in my newest Thing. I'm wondering what sort of rules there are governing this stuff? Like, how detailed can we get in terms of injuries? Should it be glossed over like in kung fu films were injuries are implied, or can we go full 'Torture Porn' so to speak (like in Saw for example).
I'm probably going to leave it somewhere in the middle, provided it's not above the established limit.
Thanks guys!! o7 x
Personally, I find gratuitous and graphic descriptions of injuries to be the hallmark of an immature writer - it's a very angsty-teenage-boy thing to do
If you really want to make toes curl, convey the feelings going on for the aggressor and / or victim.
If the nature of the injury is not really relevant to the plot, feel free to gloss over them. If, for example, an injured leg is necessary to hinder a character's movement to add tension to a chase scene later on, you may want to emphasise the injury.
Good luck and have fun with it

Cartlidge1000I know its been out for quite some time now, but I'm excited to say I've finally started reading Pegasi Autumn. I'm only through the first chapter so far but I see why everyone likes it.
I'm really glad you're enjoying it.

Cartlidge1000I'm curious. I know that the Federation and Empire care rather little for androids, while the Alliance welcomes them with open arms. Since Inara is an independent system run by Inara Nexus, what do you all think their position is on Androids, legality wise?
The most important thing to remember about androids would be that their AI is anything but. They would be people-shaped machines and nothing more. This is due to the fact that centuries ago in Elite lore, there was a massive, terribly destructive war against rogue AI-powered machines that humanity narrowly won. As a result, AI and cybernetics in general carry with them a deep stigma. Any interaction with an android would be on a "master and slave" basis, with the human simply instructing the machine what to do. They wouldn't be friends, and they wouldn't have any kind of programmed emotional response.

I feel I ought to make it clear that anyone in the bar would not be able to hear the commotion, due to the loud music being played. The bedrooms are soundproofed, so no one in those could hear anything either!
