Amata LireinSay, where on this site can I edit my Commander's role and Allegiance in her page's header?

That's a toughy, I know I've done it before.

I'll go see if I can remember how.

Found that one as well after randomly clicking around... it's under "My Reputation"-->"Edit Reputation"-->"Preferred Allegiance"

Ya just beat me to it.

The Role is Settings and then Commander Settings on the sidebar.

Yeah, its well hidden. An "Edit"-Button for that header might make things more streamlined.

Artie said that was on the list a while ago.

Love your sense of humor!

Realistically, though, I'm sure that Artie subsists on donations for all he's done setting up & running Inara; while for the E:D Devs it's part of their paying job.

Or so I presume... my hat's off & congratulations to Artie!

On a sad note, R.I.P. Max von Sydow. He passed today, age 90.

Yes, Artie is a top bloke and as he's running this site all on his own , Its gotta be a big list slow to get through.

Oh, it was most certainly not meant as an insult or a reproach for sure. If it came across like one I sincerly apologize^^

Nar, you all good

I just like to give a lil respect to Artie now and then to let him know he's appreciated.

Agreed, on both counts!

Well, made a minor alteration to her bio regarding her personal equipment at the bottom. Since "looking your best" is kind of a civic duty in the Empire and coming from a more priviledged background I think it'll suit her just fine

To all of the RPers... really GREAT RP writing! Fantastic! I've been loving reading & following the stories!

Hardly scratched the surface, just trying to get the "lay of the land" as suggested.

To answer the question about third or first person bios, that really depends on what style you like to write.

I like to write bios as if someone sat down and said "tell me about you."

This statement can be taken in 2 different ways however.

Someone sit down and ask "tell me about you" and the person start telling his story. Someone then;

A) Write down exactly how the person told it: "I boarded my ship..."

B) Write down what the person did "He boarded his ship..."

I think you meant option B - that's personally the way I prefer to read and write. I would mostly consider using option A if it's a long story where I want the reader to feel as if they are the character in the story. Usually I prefer B as if it's a tale retold about someone (my character) where the reader doesn't have to imagine they are my character to be immersed.

When I write in 1st-person, it makes it seem to me, more "alive" & less "static".

Both perspectives have their uses, different points of view to the reader.
