Elite roleplay: Q&A and OOC

I was just going for something goofy. I don't know. I'm still pretty bad at this. I'm sorry if it wasn't enjoyable.

I liked it. Suspension of disbelief comes in various shades when dealing with stories of FTL travel in the far future and let's face it, overly serious folks standing around talking about stuff in a bar can be a bit samey.

I also liked your use of links to other sources. I like using that too but the format does sometimes suffer. I'm still practicing with that myself.

If I had one recommendation it would be to cut the wall of text on longer pieces into an introductory paragraph and then link to a log book post, that way you can happily expand the scene without being constrained by the size of the RP board, but that's just a personal preference.

Also, I'm a big fan of coloured text, we should have more of that as it really gets an emotional reaction from the audience.

I'm not an RP'er myself, though I do follow some story lines here on the Inara boards.
Just my two pennyworth, but I have greatly enjoyed the Khelan/Maul thing and, as Kara says, there is room for lighthearted roleplay. Gie us more o' th' same, Jimmie!

Yeah, that's pretty much what I was going for. I've always enjoyed when movies or tv shows take a goofy and lighthearted approach on a super serious situation and figured I'd try that rather than crawl my way around and choke out guards and such. I think that's okay though and find things like that just as interesting but I think it really boils down to personal preference.

Oh and thank you for the tip on linking to a logbook. I would have never thought to have done that. That post was way longer than I intended on it being. When you're making up shit on the fly I guess it can get away from you sometimes.

See, they absolutely love it.

Another little trick is to slip a subtle grammatical error into a word you use frequentley. This keeps the readers engaged and makes them feel motivated to comment frequentley on your posts.

Doing this keeps the boards alive and helps prolongue the life of the community.

Your welcome

I guess the IP on cool ways to murder people hasn't been transcribed into Imperial law yet.

I've heard it said that imitation is the highest form of compliment though so I suppose you can be excused for now.

It's also always a good idea to write a character with no weaknesses or insecurities, who is the best at everything they've ever tried with no effort whatsoever.

Lehman, aren't you dead?

Do you want to die again?

Yes, I was stabbed to death by my grossly unstable Pegasi clan matriarch of a wife and then dumped into a sewage vat on her estate...

But I got better.

Yeah..... I was wondering why you weren't somewhere in the FDL. I mean why send the thing off into the void unless to act as a coffin?
