Just sent you a pm.

See, this is great. Communication to help the story behind the scenes. No one steps on anyone's toes. No fuss, no muss. Great job!

I applaud this, as well! Communication is key in any interaction or relationship, even role-playing.

Creamy Goodness IIIStep in front of the man that returned and just inserted himself into our conversation.

"I say old boy, that's jolly bad form. One dose not end a discourse and then blunder back in when a young lady is talking with someone else. Where did you learn your manners hmm?"

With my fists on my hips, lock eyes the ill mannered Cam and wait for an explanation.

Ehm, this went not like it was intendet creamy. Cam is not with you and Nerys anymore.

I just tried to briefly explain his disappearance from the Sidewinder from Cam's perspective in order to be able to get back in again sometime in the future.

So my post played in the past. I'm sorry for the confusion - how do we best resolve this?

Nerys Nymei

OOC: I assume this happened BEFORE our encounter, while Nerys was still inside the ship?

Exactly

Oh I see now.

Yes makes sense. I'll delete Creamy talking to Cam and I did ask Nerys if she wanted me out the way.

Hope I didn't seem like I was sniping your place, and Creamy is the kinda guy to lecture people about manners... When they are actually there

All's good, I was slow to respond and will wait for another chance to arise.

Can't see it taking long, Creamy will tell his tail and at best tag along for a while.

Thx for explaining my miss understanding to me.

OK, as someone new to the game I need some help from the more experienced players to help me get some details of my character's background right/figured out and later proveread the result so that it doesn't contradict the established lore.

So, from several sources I learned that the Pilot's Federation is limiting the amount of licenses it hands out each year, that's why in order to qualify for one you need either money, an Elite-ranked endorser or better yet: both.

So it is my understanding that the poorest's might only get a chance after working as a crew for an Elite-ranked commander hoping to convince them sponsoring their application one day. I myself decided to go for the "money"-route for my character here, so I'd like to make her the daughter of an Imperial Client, aka someone who's no doubt wealthy enough to pay for her licence, but not standing out too much in the grand scheme of things. (Yes, I had my share of dealing with pretentious RPers in other games, like claiming to be Sylvanas Windrunner's yet another sister. Leave that woman alone, her family tree is already complicated enough without you in it as well. Anyway, back to topic: )

So yeah, I intend to go a bit down the "spoiled little daughter"-path, but not to the degree that she doesn't know how the world works. For this I want her to have been born and raised on an Imperial world that ideally also has one or two Federal settlements on it that she might have visited with her parents from time to time, seeing first hand how little the Feds seem to care about their poor, reinforcing her opinion that the Imperial way of life is the superior one. And here's where my first questions come in:

Does such a world exists? If yes, what's its name and what system is it in? If not: What system might come close to this?

So I'm doing this passenger mission. The passenger wants to go to the red dwarf. I took him there but it won't go past that. The mission also says I have to go to another system. Do you get promoted to go to the next part of the mission or no?

Well, I guess that remains to be seen. Like I said, I want her to be from a family wealthy enough to enable her to get her license, not necessarily as someone who always got what she wanted.

Anyway, I found a system that could work for the intended background: Burojinura. All starbases there are Imperial, and 3 of the 5 starbases have Federation bases on the planets underneath. So in a way it would not only work for the background I have in mind for my character, it could also motivate a Federation player to grow up seeing those huge Imperial stations in the sky, considering them as an always lurking threat (sword of Damocles anyone?).

edit:
And as an added bonus: It's only 2 jumps away from Dromi, the main system of the Pilots' Federation District (aka the starter area. Could imo work as an extra motivation to become a pilot )

Thank you

Wasn't easy finding such a system though, was hoping that someone would have stumbled over one before I did so myself

Okay, I finished my first draft, would be thankful for feedback.

Oh, and I hope Jason here doesn't mind that I copied his layout... it just looks so nice
