Elite roleplay: Q&A and OOC

I like Amata's look and the song! The purple is very bold.

As for Jason, I've had to turn my brain over several times to find the right song to capture his deep desire to fight for what he feels is right, especially if it's against the Feds, and I think this is the most apt, considering growing up in Federation space and his relationship with his late father:

Thank you, but it's actually blue, which in my headcanon might be a trend color with young Imperial women b/c of Aisling.

And that's a great choice for a personal theme

So it is! I definitely see the Princess as being a trend-setter. Being a supporter of hers, blue is absolutely an excellent color. Jason tends to run ships with a purple color scheme, however, as it's the color of royalty.

Then again, all of my ship designations begin with 'BLU'. There's an out of game reason for that, but in-game? You gotta respect the blue hair.

I'll say, Blue is a regal color... but IMO, Purple has been known from history due to its rarity & expense.

Not meaning to cast any judgments, but just pointing it out. Me, I like both those colors, also those of the metals.

Regardless, a striking combination of choices in design, Amata Lirein!

Indigo, my favorite combination of the two, but I didn't find a decent representation of it in the pallette!

For a long time, my username on a certain social media platform was 'Indigo Hermetic Bard.'

So we have a favorite color in common, it seems!

1 of my characters in STO, is within plausible canon, extremely old, & her traditional garb is that of a purple color trimmed with gold inter-weaved in ancient text into the fabric.

Purple might also be thought of by some to be the unofficial color of a portion of those females with an 'alternative' sexual orientation.

Let's not forget that it's also a prominent color on the bisexual flag!

All right, it's tough to figure just the right theme song for Synthya, complex as she is with essentially, 2 different parts to her backstory. But after reviewing those links I saw posted previously, aside from me personally liking the song, I don't think it that far out of line (& my personal tastes are admittedly relatively classic/old-fashioned); it's portrayed in IMO epic fashion here:

The Sound of Silence

Hello darkness, my old friend,
I've come to talk with you again,
Because a vision softly creeping,
Left its seeds while I was sleeping,
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence

In restless dreams I walked alone
Narrow streets of cobblestone,
'Neath the halo of a street lamp,
I turned my collar to the cold and damp
When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light
That split the night
And touched the sound of silence

And in the naked light I saw
Ten thousand people, maybe more
People talking without speaking,
People hearing without listening,
People writing songs that voices never share
And no one dared
Disturb the sound of silence

"Fools" said I,
"You do not know, silence like a cancer grows
Hear my words that I might teach you,
Take my arms that I might reach you"
But my words like silent raindrops fell,
And echoed
In the wells of silence

And the people bowed and prayed
To the neon god they made
And the sign flashed out its warning,
In the words that it was forming
And the signs said,
"The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls
And whisper'd in the sounds of silence"

That's an evocative classic! A good choice, imho.

Like I told you yesterday already: IMO the song has a very dark mood to it. While the lyrics surely fit your character's story well its melody might (emphasis on might!) give the impression that your character is so introverted she cannot be interacted with.

Ultimately it's your choice though, and if you think it works then I'm not going to stop you

More like, troubled or haunted? A little scared, feeling lost, confused, a 'Stranger In A Strange Land'?

Synthya has, for all intents & purposed, already 'died' once, & all that she knew is gone, & she's left with little else than a world of unanswered questions.

Does that help?

I do admit to having to continue writing her RP which is long overdue.

Synthya Wylder'Stranger In A Strange Land'?

Another great book! Recommend to everyone.

I'm trying to think about what song would suit my character, but not got one yet. One of these days I need to proper sit down and write his background too.
