Max ThoresonConformists vs non-conformists = battle that has no end. Humans...

That is not accurate.

RenraikuYou have been here a very short time and you throw around accusations like you have been here for ages and have discussed lore here in infinitum, yet you are self proclaimed new to the site.

Thats what you said.. Im new and these are my 1st impressions 25/30 days on inara. I see cyber bullies picking on Knightwolf is what i see.

Canon would be great if IT WAS WIDELY KNOWN AND UNDERSTOOD.. but apparently a prerequisite course is required reading...

Knightwolf 1785I've read over all 50+ post going on over this and I'm just seeing one thing here. A wall of seeing only one thing. Artie, Renraiku, and Isaiah I'd like you to go back to page 370... Well I see a few post have been removed. Regardless I'd like you three to just read over the post, forgetting that you either own the site or know the lore, and read it like someone just coming in. I think you might see it differently. That's all I am asking of you is to see it from another way is all. Nothing else. I've had my say and will leave it at that. Good day.

Well, I fully understand the sentiment. I do. But take a look on that this way: You create a Baratheon's bastard son character from Game of thrones universe. You will make all his background, skilfully write his stories and it will be excellent. Although it may be written quite neutrally, but still will be true to the GoT universe. Everybody who will read it will say it's a fantastic work. So fantastic, that even Mr. Martin himself can be pale in envy. Then you decide to put this character and his stories onto... well, as I have mentioned it earlier, Middle-earth RP forum. How that will work? It's obvious it won't unless serious edits will be made to keep the quality of the work AND to keep the consistency with the Tolkien's universe. It's same here - nobody is asking the authors to limit their fantasy, to cripple their "craftsmanship", definitely not. The only thing that is asked is to keep it within the universe rules as set by Frontier and works acknowledged by Frontier. Is it a limiting factor? It depends on the view. Does that limit the author to create awesome characters and stories? Definitely not, there are great books and movies with great stories and characters that are complying even with the current boring real world "lore".

Fine. FINE! FINE! I get it. I've been bullied out and because there were other people that enjoyed RPing with me they are wrong too. No one read her bio, is willing to go with even the possibility of other alien life beyond the damn bugs, and other points in the lore that can show more that is still in Elite lore. I'll bet you never even been to Soontill in game after reading "And Here The Wheel". I'm staying to the "buy and sell" part from here on. Don't even bother responding. It's clear where I should never be.

Seriously? I don't recall saying any of the things you are accusing me of.
Can you point me to it if I have, I am sure I can clarify anything that needs clarifying.

Alright, I've offered multiple explanations and answers and pointed you in the direction of places to look for more. I'm almost positive you're just trolling at this point.

I know...but this has gone on now for several days...for something I think is very obvious.

That is a partial quote.

Perhaps listen to those who know the Lore and are willing to share it and they can assist in negotiating the difficult sections.

Would it not be better for you to heed my advise rather than plead ignorance?

I am sorry, extra note as I see that word was written here a few times from multiple people - there is no "bullying" nor "cyber bullying". That I (and other "lore purists") insist on keeping the lore as created and established by Frontier isn't bullying. It's just, well... insisting that RP should be within that lore and that Frontier's universe rules shouldn't be freely bend as anybody deem fit. Same as when I tell that I do not tolerate profane insulting of other people here in the discussion - I do not bully such posters, I just insist on keeping the discussion civil and polite. When somebody tells you what you should or shouldn't do to fit within established limits - it's far from bullying.

Why is it so incredibly important to have a furry character in a non-furry setting?

I mean, it's not like a guardian and Thargoid character would be accepted, despite those being in the lore. CMDRs are merely human after all.

Now that you mention it Becca, a Thargoid character running around biting people's heads off would make things more interesting around here.

Just one question in regards to that Isaiah. Can the Thargoids breath the same air mix as humans? Is it even in the lore? Just asking for clarification.

Can it bite mine off first? Getting a little tired of this entire discussion.

I'm making a joke, not actually suggesting it be done.

I recall their being ammonia-breathers & preferring a colder climate, but I'm going by memory.

An idea, have you considered writing your stories elsewhere, like GoogleDocs, for instance, & then providing a link? That way, it would be a conscious decision for someone to click on it & follow/read/participate, or not. If they did so, the responsibility would be on them. No complaining possible or justified, & you'd be liberated from the narrow confines of what amounts to E:D lore.

I've seen it done elsewhere...

It could... ROLEPLAY: ALTERNATIVE REALITY...as well as “AI gone wild” and anything else someone could think of.

You can already do it by simply putting them up as a log book.

I usually opt for google docs though, since you can't share the draft log book on Inara with someone.
