Isaiahs comment was probably at the Thargoid and not at your character.
I fail to see how you can't adapt your bio to a human character. I fail to see why that character must be a furry no matter what.
I suspect it’s because Knightwolf isn’t role playing but self-inserting via their fursona. Rejecting it is rejecting the person behind it.
The only real issue here is Inara isn’t the best place for that.

This is an out-of-character board. As in, we're engaging each other as the human creators behind the characters, no matter how many of them we're writing. You understand this, right?
SapphoThe sources which include officially recognized novels you mentioned is, IMO, reasonable, but I'll also point out, yours don't seem to be included - on Drew's site, yours are listed as unofficial. Please correct me if I'm in error. All kudos to you for having the inspiration, time & energy to write them.
Thanks. And yes, my novels are unofficial and in no way endorsed by Frontier as canon, and shouldn't be treated as such (though they are based on canon events). I post this disclaimer, or one almost exactly like it, at the start of everything I write:
SapphoIn summary, with the exclusion of Artie's 'Alternative Reality' section, writing RP in Inara is to be limited to only that which is recognized as 'official' lore. That's OK. It's Artie's site.
There are opportunities elsewhere to write with imagination & creativity which exceeds the limited bounds of E:D lore.
& that is not a very high bar.
Oh, I wouldn't agree with that. Plenty of writers have found that the existing lore is rich, full of possibilities, and worth exploring–or else we wouldn't all be here.

So, yeah, the logbooks doesn't necessarily need to be "pure hardcore Elite RP" to be popular and read. The door to fantasy are fully open.

ArtieJust to give some examples of the popular (not strictly RP) logbooks:
- Long Distance Clara's travel records were very popular and the are written in a very civil way (and with very nice photos), recommended.
- Tharik Otoli, no RP at all.
- Wanda Fersegi, once again, very civil.
... and many many others.
So, yeah, the logbooks doesn't necessarily need to be "pure Elite RP" to be popular. The door to fantasy are fully open.
Open to being in SOLO play. Forget it guys. I'm just here for the buy and sell information now. Nothing else or bothering with RP, logbooks, etc. Just give it up. I sure have.

Ya! Thats what im talking about!! Now thats creative! See when I first started my character in the bar.. I didnt even know "canon" was an issue.. i expected a much more wild west kinda FUN forum.. i didnt expect it to be so RIGID.
I joined Inara because I wanted to attempt to incorporate the "role-play" aspect of the game... BECAUSE I have no friends! I also have little TIME to PLAY online. And as a PS4 Player i dont even have a PS+ account so I have NEVER been able to play in OPEN!
I looked for which Squadron I should join and became bogged down yet again with politics and websites and discussion forums..
HELL I JUST WANTED TO JOIN A SQUADRON!!! Maybe bite the bullet and even pay for PS+ access. OMG What a nightmare!!!
Then I find out people expect to bounce around from Empire to Alliance to Federation with their alleigences.. REALLY just to get special goodies? One has no morals or ethics or loyalty?
I decided I would Join the ALLIANCE.. and probably STICK with it... But again. another research nightmare.. Honestly I am lost in a sea discord, urls and discussion forums... wheres the "story" in this game..
I tried searching for a PS4 squadron cause otherwise I cant play in the same instance as my friends.. As my criteria narrowed there became NO choice I liked better than NOT swearing ANY allegiance. Even though for the moment I'm missing half the game.

That is inherently not creative but simple minded nonsense pulling parts of different established works together.
Creativity is in fact creating something, it's kind of in the name.

That is a lot, but hardly creative.
Don't get me wrong, there are creative crossovers en masse, but simply taking x elements from x franchises and throwing them into a shared world isn't it.
Being creative also means that you can work around boundaries and within established frameworks, without them limiting you.
