KazumaGShepNo, but then that wouldn't be fun, now would it and it's not like he would wear it all the time. Besides this is all theoritcal. As I mentioned, I generally don't have much of an interest in RPing but it gives ideas and that's important.

Like to give an idea, he could have been doing a show on a the station for the kids and went to the bar for a drink and because he was so "in character" he could completely forgot it was on, and of course he wouldn't think much of then be reminded that "hey you still have your suit on." I mean this is what role play is isn't it? If I expect this character to just be accepted then that'd almost be like trying to have a perfect character which as far as I know is very looked down upon, or he could have a damaged background and wearing the suit brings him comfort. There are any number of reasons I could give him for having it and wearing it.

Huh... I mean, I'm not personally into that subculture... but, that is the most balanced and sane concept I've seen so far. Hell... it fits into the lore without issue.

And yeah... you would face social issues, as I'm sure people in anipamorphic (sp?) suits would still not widely accepted. But you seem to understand that. Thus, I can get behind that.

As a side note, I don't think that Phisto was being insulting. I think he was merely saying that it seems you don't know yet why the character would wear the suite, and is suggesting that is an important thing to dial in before moving on.

That's because this character doesn't even exist at all, I was just giving examples of what could be done. I wasn't trying to be mean with my response, I was just saying that I couldn't care if someone accepted the character concept or not. I mean yes it is my job as a writer to give the character reasons as to how or why they are the way they are or do the things they do but at the end of the day regardless of what I do it's the reader's job to accept it or not.

And you expect this character to just... be accepted in a conventional social setting?

"I forgot that I was wearing a furry suit" is a pretty tough sell.

"I'm dysfunctional and need a furry suit to make me feel better" sounds like someone who shouldn't be trusted with a spaceship... or an inadvertent callout on real life furries.

And please don't try to force a false binary between the "perfect character" and someone who must wear a furry suit. It's disingenuous.

If I were to call out real life furries than I'd be calling myself out. Again these are just suggestions not fact. I never said they "must" wear or implied it at all.

If you'd be calling out yourself, then can you explain the appeal of self inserting?

I mean, isn't it more interesting to play characters not iike you at all?

I didn't say the character would be a self insert, yes that was implied in my post to Artie, but I was using it more as an example more so than anything else. To be honest I don't like RPing as a human it's why in pretty much any game that will allow it. I will choose to be a beastial race if at all possible. This is why I won't be partaking in the RPs here, but I wanted to offer ideas that wouldn't conflict with lore and open conversation with ideas as to how people could bring these concepts to life while respecting the world and setting of Elite Dangerous.

I appreciate your attempts to respect the lore of Elite. Really I do.

I’m generally someone that tries to respect things and inject what I want into it that won’t conflict with established rules and settings. It generally why I keep to my log books more because I can write whatever I want in it. I love Elite Dangerous and that’s the biggest reason I’m on this site.

I (and my character Amata) feel sorry for JB and Ina already...

Does anyone know of some good independent role-play squadrons?

Lets just say that if JB had hired Amata instead of Ina she would have shot a stungun at Creamy once seeing him again and told JB to trust her that this would be waaaaaaaaaaaaay less trouble to rescue him.

A stun gun rather than pool ball in a sock? I think you're starting to warm to him

Oh, she would use that if available. But in that situation a stun gun is more likely to be in reach.

Rain would just put him in a headlock and drag him.

And here we go again: Creamy, a boy in a man's body, acting like the world's an action movie with himself being the male lead, thinking that he's outsmarting his enemies all the time when in reality he's just waaay too much luck for his own good. Unfortunatly this luck of his never extends to his "supporting cast" who're getting dragged along when trying to help him, instead they are the ones getting killled (like his friends from that hourly hotel he made Nerys, Amata, Jason and Ao hide in), almost getting killed (Nerys, Amata, Jason and Ao) and/or get severly hurt in the process (Ao). And if you dare to call him out for his reckless behaviour he either doesn't listen or blames someone else for what happened. Oh, and like every male lead in an action movie he's totally convinced that all the ladies love him and he gets the girl in the end.

Did I miss something?

P.S.:

@Creamy: Meaning no offense here. Reading your character's shenanigans is absolute fun. Above is just the opinion Amata has about Creamy.
