ScubadogHey, now, be nice. Some of us call Colonia 'home'. I migrated there 10 years ago, never regretted it.

Sorry, my message was aimed for ARX promoters.

So.. what do your grandchildren think about this game?

If it were addressed to me then I hope they would never play it.

Seems I'm hopeless at finding planets with exo sites, where should I be looking and how do I work the sampler?
A video guide would be helpful

Use https://www.spansh.co.uk to plan a (round)trip. It will list the systems and planets.

It was not but I like the answer.

Are you performing detailed surface scans of planets? While exploring, I've found that the FSS detecting bio and geo presence on a planet is hit and miss for determining if you should bother visiting the planet, but a DSS of the planet reveals everything and where it can be found. In fact, you have to do a DSS to determine areas where the biomass can be found, otherwise you are searching blind and relying on luck to find anything.

Going back to stuff that was discussed here just a few days ago…
RawnuQuestions for Fleet Carrier owners:
(1) How did owning an FC change your playstyle (if at all)? What is now different for combat, trading, exploration, mining etc.?

For me, the biggest change has been with respect to trade CGs. Now, instead of doing many medium-range trips (or hoping to find someone with their own FC looking for help), I can just load up my FC with as much of the CG stuff as I feel like, at any station that has a good stock at a decent price, then move the FC and unload at the target station.

Other than that, not much has changed. It is, of course, very nice to have all the ships and modules at hand, without having to wait for them being transferred. (Especially important because I tend to swap modules a lot, and the module storage limit is woefully low, so I have to use several “storage yard” ships.) Likewise, it is very nice to have somewhere to store cargo I might want to make use of later.

I have not taken my FC for an exploration trip yet, as I got it shortly before the Thargoid War started, so there was always too much content I did not want to miss out on.

Rawnu (2) What do you wish to have as additional options for your FC (outfitting, customization etc.)?

Well, everyone mentions the missing ability to transfer tritium from the cargo hold directly to the fuel depot. I’m missing that, too
Other that that, I don’t really feel like I need more FC options. More interiors to visit would be nice, of course, but (like it has been said in this thread later) right now that’s a general issue with all starport-like entities, not FC-specific.

Rawnu (3) Did you ever regret having an FC? (e.g. because of maintenance costs or lack of feeling "alone" in your one ship)

Nope, never. Maintenance costs have become a non-issue with the AX combat payouts, and if I want to “feel alone in my ship”, I can always take an extended exploration trip while leaving the FC in the Bubble.

ThinderWe talk a lot about our wish lists but is there any way to pass those ideas to Frontier Developers?

There’s this subforum of the official ED forums. It is, of course, anyone’s guess if anybody from the FDev staff bothers to look there nowadays.

Miner Willya pointless lift that works like no lift ever has (select your destination before entering, even though there is only ever one destination), and why only one destination on any station

My guess is, the idea was that we eventually do get multiple destinations. Whether this actually ever happens is another matter.

BTW, the silliest ‘lift’ is the one at the FC command deck. AFAICT all it does is turn you 180 degrees. Apparently FDev could not implement a better access control device before the deadline…

And yes, I would love to be able to see more of the stations’ and starports’ interiors, and random NPCs doing their stuff around them.

Glial2
Luke Williamswhat human equipment is worth unlocking from Technology brokers

The Engineered Detailed Surface Scanner V1 will give you 10% more coverage than a max engineered equivalent (you can scan most earth-sized planets with 3 shots)

Since percentages can be confusing, I’ll clarify:
The standard DSS has the probe radius of “20%”. (The unit is totally arbitrary.)
A grade 5 engineered DSS has the probe radius of “30%”, i.e. a 50% improvement.
The pre-engineered “V1” DSS has the probe radius of “40%”, i.e. a 100% improvement.

With the “V1” DSS, the rule of thumb is that the optimum amount of probes needed is half the efficiency target.

Glial2I believe the pre-engineered FSD is now outperformed by a fully upgraded 5A FSD (SCO) (you can get longer jump range from the sco fsd fully engineered)

Yes, it is.

Glial2Corrosive cargo racks are handy for hauling thargoid hearts or probes? (can't remember if probes are corrosive in your cargo hold)

Yes, they are. Almost every Thargoid-related cargo is corrosive (meta-alloys and bio-storage capsules being two exceptions I remember).

Glial2IMHO the only one worth getting is the DSS, and that's if you intend on doing a lot of exploring

I’d also unlock the anti-corrosion cargo racks (they’re good to have just in case). Sirius Heat Sink Launchers are also nice to have for their extra capacity.

Also, if you’re into AX stuff, you’ll probably want Azimuth Enhanced AX Multi-Cannons and/or Sirius AX Missile Racks (the latter are primarily useful at active Thargoid Spire sites, to destroy Banshees and then hunt Orthruses).

Note that all of the above, except the anti-corrosion cargo racks, are purchased, not unlocked (in other words, you pay with the materials for each item). Also, the Azimuth & Sirius stuff is not available at regular stations, only at select megaships (including the rescue megaships, IIRC).

Polonium DONE, 3 to go...

HIP 36601 body C1A ---------- Polonium ----------
HIP 36601 body C1D ---------- Ruthenium
HIP 36601 body C3B ----------Tellurium
HIP 36601 body C5A --------- Technetium

>>>

Since they introduced Scorpion, I forgot about Scarab, it is so much more manageable, it makes farming Raw materials easier...

>>>

Impossible to find any material on HIP 36601 body C1D, even on known coordinates, did something change again?

Orrere 2 B Anaconda Crash Site... There are 3 times more Cargo Racks than previously, a real feast, the terrain is just as difficult as before so collection is hard when the canisters hides behind an obstacle but there is a lot of Grade 4 and 3 Raw Materials.

Hey guys, hoping for a little bit of help regarding BGS.. If two factions are within 5 percent of each other how do I make the more dominate faction take a settlement from the more minor one ?
