Capt PetrusThis is probably asked like at least 100 times but what is the current best way to grind out Federation Navy rank ?

Some say relentless data delivery or donation missions but personally I don't like this method as you have to actually be able to afford the ship at the end. I ran passenger missions out of Rhea since it had 5 federal aligned factions there. I reached Elite in trade before Rear Admiral but I made it none the less and was able to buy my corvette outright. Fionn, where my group is operating has 6 federal aligned factions so should work nicely or so should any other system with a high amount of them. Good luck.

Me and my wing were undermining, and another wing popped in and killed us. But they were undermining too! Wouldn't the smart thing have been to just leave us alone and allow us to help crush the system that they obviously had a shared objective in?

Nope. The bloodlust is high

Damn Hudson supporters haha

Wait I forgot to add "f'n griefers". There we go, all is right on the world

Wait, so you were both undermining, but they shot you anyway? Bit weird, certainly not a smart thing to do.

I step away from Inara for a few days only to miss the news that I'm a terrible person in real life because I sometimes engage in asymmetric PvP against Fed CMDRs from time to time.

Now I need to find a way to break the news to my family.

Yea definitely not smart. They had a corvette and 3 FDLs. We had 2 corvette and a dash boarding anaconda

Woulda been a good fight maybe if the anaconda didn't %ussy out. But it was so one sided from the get go it's hard to say haha. Btw For all you dashborders out there. Here is a case in point, you royally screw over players in your wing that arnt such #^nts

If we knew we were outmatched from the get go, we woulda been like ok, time to high wake. But nope. It's not u tim the end of the fight when we are all debris and smoke and wondering how we got thrashed so fast that the anaconda let's us know he dashboarded. Thanks bud

I really wanna know the definition of a dashboarder. I've never heard that one.

Think it's just Combat logger. I've only ever heard it used in games like Call of Duty and Battlefield though.

Still though, who fights people on their own side, that's just stupid, haha!

It's when you force quit the game to avoid dying
11 Oct 2017, 10:43pm
Dashboarder is derived from the fact that the main screen on consoles is referred to as the dashboard.

Someone who quits the game by force closing it, ends up on the dashboard, hence he/she/it, is a dashboarder.

(Cue a PC player telling me the main screen on a computer is also called the dashboard...)

Thanks, I didn't think that would even work. I thought you would still have the 15 second countdown since it's all on the internet.

Van R FlyheightThanks, I didn't think that would even work. I thought you would still have the 15 second countdown since it's all on the internet.

Don't go doing it now... People will hate you for it.

For the record though, the 15 second timer only works because your end is still sending and receiving information from the other persons end. So he fires a shot, it is sent to your platform, your platform accepts the hit, does appropriate math to work out the change, then sends back the change information.

By dashboarding (or Task Killing as it's also known), your end stops accepting and sending information through the servers. So the person shooting at the CLogger, isn't receiving any information from the other end. This is also why, for about 10-30 seconds you'll see an invincible ship coasting away in a straight line until it suddenly vanishes. That's a sign the player has simply pulled the plug to avoid death. (There are SOME legitimate reasons why someone may do so, like a power cut for example).

We hunted down one of the FdLs .   He is amazing. We wouldn't have won if the anaconda stayed

Make sure you tell them so then! Always nice to get a message from another CMDR
