I'm very much looking forward to the new ship on Oct 22. What I call the Naga. (Actually called the Mandalay)
Your FC, where it's parked, will be called Patala?

1 Dark knightHowdy Cmdrs,
Got a bit of a headscratcher,
Collecting guardian materials from various starports etc and now back in home,
on Starport Services, Technology broker lists my materials, however,
How do i remove/discard them from my cargo hold without losing them on technology Broker's goods list ?
Want to get back out with an empty cargo hold.
Any advice would as always be appreciated.

AHWhat would be the point? My max range is 50'sh. That would be 440 jumps if it was a straight line. I'll be at it for a month if I only did jumps. If I start looking around, it would take a long time
Hmm... maybe it's not a bad idea. I'll wait for the new explorer ship and maybe I'll do it.

You could use the Neutron superhighway to get there and then explore more locally.

Most of the materials you'll need for the tech broker are not stored in the cargo hold, rather they're in this special "materials" part of your inventory. That inventory fills to a very high number for each material, so it's unlikely you'll run out of room. This is especially true since you only need to "unlock" the various guardian modules once before they become just another credit purchase.

The materials i have are not listed in the 'material' section of my inventory. The materials: Magnetic emitter coils, Power trans bus, micro controllers, articulation motors and micro-weave colling hoses, are required by Tech Broker to unlock more of the guardian weapons. The only one that i need that is registered in the materials section are blueprints from the actual guardian sites.
This is why i am a bit lost as now back at my station, whilst the technology borker's listed items now reflect my cargo, what happens if i discard them from my actual cargo hold. This is not the same as the two material sections lower down where it wouldn't be an issue as you rightly mentioned.
This is what i am at a lost to sought. I don't want to go back out with a hold full of cargo as even in solo, i was ganked during returning home.
I do apologise for not being as clear the first time.

As others have stated, there are cargo items, and there are materials (which are stored in some magic-bag-of-holding or something).
Almost all the tech broker items that require cargo are "unlocks" rather than purchases, so you need to plan ahead of time, get your materials and cargo and then unlock what you need. Unless you have a fleet carrier to store the excess cargo you are best off just selling it as it's fairly easy to come by if/when you want to unlock more items.
The only exception to the above rule is Osmium, because someone in FDev forgot they had a rule. But those are for items nobody ever needs to use anyway.
