I haven't tested this solution but it looks interesting, a 100% increase in Jump Range using Synthesis...

Synthesis
In theory you could save a lot of fuel using synthesis over your usual Jump range unless fuel consumption is also doubled.

For someone needing to get somewhere fast, like a fuel rat, the FSD injections can come in handy, but otherwise I do not consider it viable for regular travel.

The only time I use FSD injection is for single jumps when I am far above or below the galactic plane and there is a star I want to investigate that is outside of my normal jump range. Other than that, I consider FSD injections a waste of resources and do not see it as a useful for normal travel, only emergency travel. The time it takes to top off the tanks while fuel scooping is negligible for non-emergency travel.
