I know why I usually don't do it. But it's the only way to go on the booze cruise. At least I can look forward to 5.6B Cr.
So if anybody wants to join the party, Rackham is on holiday!

WaylongwayIf it would also be possible to outsource carrier jumping... Well, actually it would be enough to be able to set a route like with a ship, but Fdev...

A waypoint system in a game that already has a waypoint plotter? Crazy talk.
First week playing Elite?

If jumping wouldn't be so tedious. I need to kill the time between jumps.

WaylongwayI know that's too much asked for. Futuristic technology and such.

Ever heard of CNC AKA Carrier Navigation Computer? It reads route from spansh FC plotter csv file and do the jumping and refueling while you sleep or do whatever you want.

What is this? Is it actually allowed by FDev? And how do I get this? Because that's the most annoying thing that even though I'm paying for a crew to manage my ship, I still have to manually plot each and every single jump. Also is there a way to get the carrier to take extra tritium from the cargo hold for when the tank runs empty?

EpisparhSabertooth1Could use some advice from those that do ship combat as thier main play style. This build is for PVE combat.

Thrusters are at that level do to not having the engineers open yet to max them out and some of the other areas are do to not having the mats at the moment.
You messed a lot of the armor and shields.
For HRP alway go heavy duty /deep plating with lowest one thermal resistant deep plating if you use reactive armor.
For bi-weave shield thermal resist/ fast charge + resistance augmented / super capacitator shield boosters.
Remove that ADC, if you cannot dock you shouldn't be doing combat at first place.

Thank you for the input, It is appreciated. I had planned on deep plating the hull but I was out of one of the matts and didn't realize it until I got to the engineer. As for the docking computer. I can easily land a medium ship manually. I have a type 7 I use for rescuing out of burning stations. The reason for it is mainly this. I tend to play for to long a lot of the time and am barely able to keep my eyes open getting back to the station. With the docking comp all I have to do is keep my eyes open long enough to get to the station and get docking permission. If I nod off for a few seconds doing this it usually isn't a big deal, However I have to be able to keep my eyes open to get through the slot and actually land.

Actually not yet. A quick search seems to confirm someone made it. But there is no download or GitHub site.
This would be exactly what I need!
Edit: On further search actually found two programs: FleetCarrierNavComputer and FCAutojumper. Will definitely look into them.
Thanks for the hint.

Yeah, ignore the anti-docking computer zealots
It's PvE, and it's a size 1 slot. As an alternate viewpoint to Epi's, I will say - "If you can't do PvE combat without whatever module Epi thinks should replace your ADC, then you shouldn't be doing combat at all"

You can get it only from a particular discord server. Send me a DM if you cannot find it.

So far Frontier never claimed it as legal or illegal. Plenty of people use it.
In essence it gets the route from spansh FC plotter. It sends keys through your client to set the next jump. It also refills tritium depo from your cargo if you use a ship with a cargo. After the jump is complete, it waits for cool down, set next jump and refuel, repeat till it reaches final destination or some error occurs, which is rare.

I am not an anti-docking computer whatever. Just think about it, how often you will use a module to dock. Usually people camp in RES for hours before they get to restock/repair. So, is a module that would be used less than 1% of your playing session worth being on your combat ship? I use ADC on my FC support ship, but that is just a ship that docks to FC and demmand/supply station, a repetitive task that worth the use of the module.
@Sabertooth1, you can logout anywhere if you are too sleepy and dock on the other day. That is poor excuse for wasting a slot for docking computer that is used for 1 min every 1-3 hours. But play as you wish, I've seen people using ADC on deep exploration ship even before release of EDO that made it somewhat useful by being able to auto land on planets.

Episparh is right though and it's not about if you can still PVE with wasted module slots. You could basically still PVE properly without any optional internals, except for a shield generator.
The thing is, do you want to waste the often only class 1 module slot with a relatively useless module. Instead of filling it up with something more practicable.
The only ship I'm using a docking computer on is my trading ship, where I think the usefulness of the module outranks the drawbacks. There you spent the most time landing and taking off from a station in a heavy ship and it only removes 2t of potential cargo and overall it's boosting my motivation to do more runs since I have time doing other stuff while auto docking repeatedly.
Oh yeah and for exploration in big ships it could be useful too since it magically makes the ground below you landable.
But at the end of the day, it's your choice and if you really have no better use for that slot and think it's too annoying to manually land your agile combat ship then it probably is an acceptable choice.
I think people using edsy over coriolis is a more controversial subject
Just realised that Epi gave a similar response already, but I'll leave this hear anyway

I used Edsy because it uploads everything from Inara correctly. Unless it got fixed coriolis doesn't import the engineering.
