I just unlocked the Guardian Shield Reinforcement, and I'm wondering if it would make sense to use it in this build:

Thoughts?

Check the recommended build for Krait Mk2 without and with engineering here :

Without G5 monstered power plant you won't have power if you add 4 Guardian Shield Reinforcement Packages.

CupcoHere is a question for fleet carrier owners: Do you receive profits from other people dumping Universal Cartographic data and buying fuel, etc.?
Cartographic data sold to carrier is paid at 75% the reminder of 25% is split between UC and FC owner.
For refuel, restock and repair you get credits only if you set tarif. You do not get the money for 1 ton of fuel just the tarif portion.
Example:
If station sells 1t fuel for 1kCR, a carrier with 0% tarif will sell for same price. In this scenario 0CR will go to FC bank.
If the carrier apply 10% tarif, the price that CMDRs will pay will be 1100cr, and 100CR will go to FC bank.

CupcoThanks Episparh. I was looking at a forum thread where people were complaining about having others know the position of their carrier. I figure there had to be some benefits.
Why would it bother anyone that their carrier location is public knowledge?

Wow, people complaining that in 34th century a position of a station 3.5km long is known to everybody.
Firstly, the galaxy map didn't tell you whose FC is where, it just lists all system that had 1+ FC in them.
If I want to track a FC, I simply find it once and bookmark it in game.
Even if a FC owner do not expose FC position for 3rd party tools, such as inara, it can stay under the radar only if it is in some God forsaken system that no one visits to seed data.
Lastly, some people are way too obsessed that someone may track them. Maybe they should work on their social skills for how to avoid and resolve conflicts with others or use the option "No social interactions, it is just me here"
P.S.. Can you link me that posts/thread in private message. I am very interested of those special one, I will get some popcorn and spend a good time reading that stuff.

Also you can place a Sidewinder (or any ship) on a fleet carrier and use it as a LoJack.

Ah, I see now. This was more a rant "Why should my carrier is present to all instances, I want it visible just for me" . That's very disappointing.
That is more of effect of Frontier not sharing information. By my understanding FCs were meant initially to be controlled by squadrons, but then FDev decided to satisfy what some vocal group wanted and mixed both things in one producing current version instead of creating two versions: a Squadron one and a personal one. It is what it is
Good companies do not use MVP.

Literally no reason to care if someone knows where your carrier is. Don't want someone else to dock on it? You can set docking permissions if you don't want others landing on your carrier. Even then, if someone does land on your carrier, so what. You wouldn't know it unless both you and the other player have an Inara account and you check your carrier status. There are literally no drawbacks to other players utilizing your carrier as a landing platform. Even if they store their own ships/modules on it, it doesn't effect the carrier at all. Only one who might be inconvenienced by it would be the random player when you jump your carrier to a different area. They get dragged along with it.

I think that persons issue (there seem to be many others though...) is they want to play alone. Experience that lone explorer vibe and if someone's riding their coattails or harassing them just because, it ruins that. While the solution is durp SOLO mode they can still have first discoveries 'stolen' easier if their base of operations location is known (although unlikely considering they could have a UC at the FC to turn in first np).
It's really not valid grip imo. 8 years in, with engineering ubiquitous. People have been everywhere so there's nowhere to have your own quiet little safe space that is guaranteed to not have anyone visit.

Yuna SakashiroHad a scary ADC glitch with the Cutter last night. Now I dock manually.
