Are the beagle point and its surrounded areas safe place to visit? The reason I asked is that when I reached The Formorian Frontier from The Veils, it appears quite crowded with carriers all the way to beagle, and when I checked its traffic reports it shows ships which hardly could be explorers like FDLs. So I assume it could be some gankers there too, and I don't want to be thrown away back for 10K LY if killed. Thanks



Ganking at Beagle point and other popular location was a thing even before FCs. If you fly a slow cardboard explorer build that will die from 2-3 salvos of pvp ship better stay in solo or PG.

*with the possible exception of using an AFK T10 to mine credits. Even then, the commander should have already leveled up to Elite before they do. Having your T10 level up for you is lowly.[/quote]

Thank you Daddy, for making me feel non-self respecting. The last carrier that I visited was 15K LY away and if my explorer ship which is without proper PvP weapons, shields and armour were intercepted by ganker FDL brought to these remote area by carrier without hardship of 3 month journey through the void just to take an advantage of ships like mine, would I supposed to feel non-self respecting if I switched to solo instead of wasting month of my life to fly back to beagle point again? I don't think so. You don't have to reply.

Having crossed the galaxy myself, I am aware of the theoretical risks.
But once you get out into the black the only thing you realistically need to fear is your own driving.
Build yourself a fast explorer and if you get interdicted or attacked, you just outrun them.
That's what drag drives are for.
And when you are out in the black, stop at the local DSSA carrier and sell your cartographic data regularly.

This isn't mine, but rather the ship I based mine on (this one is better).
This is THE best exploration ship.
Fast, great jump range, easy to handle, great visibility...and it's a Krait.

Daddy O...and no, that Krait does not have a railgun. Dunno why it shows up. Just disregard it.


My phantom jumps only 67LY but it has rail guns though it does not have supercruise assist , it is a luxury on the medium ship . Also I don't have big faith in shields and its boosters, they consume too much power so I keep my mostly for fender-benders not for real protection. Thank you to all who responded, I did not want a "war and peace" out of it.
