It is not 39 Ceti. What you need to do is -
shift the number back by two, for each digit, as you would have with the letters... it is really a bit stupid and completely not obvious, to the point I just found a post on the Frontier forums saying the result and how to get to it

Replying to my own post to add, spoiler free: That was a fun little treasure hunt.
I'm also really glad to have taken my AspX out for it; on what's likely to be it's final "Adventure" before it's replaced by the new ship.

While I enjoyed the little hunt (loved the story), it was a bit underwhelming in the end. What could've improved the whole experience: having to land on a planet and scan stuff there or break into something (with your Maverick suit). Maybe fight of scavengers and maybe even "see" the ghost ship of the pirate at the end. Again, it was a nice little thing but you could've done more with it. (Not going to wear the pumpkin hat!)

Outfitting stuff: I started using the modified plasma chargers (from our favorite mass murd... ehm, research institution defending humanity) on my FdL (plus a thermal vent beam laser) for regular PvE combat and... they are quite nice! What I love is that you can charge and hold the charge until you maneuver into a good firing position. They have quite the oomph and with their "keeping charged" feature I rarely miss a shot = they always deliver their damage. Did you folks try those MPCs on human enemies before? Can highly recommend!

I have six modified plasmas on an Imperial Cutter. They are quite good against human NPCs. But Denton Patreus' modified plasmas do more damage and also get hotter.

Ah, good to know! How is the Cutter handling then? I know it's ok-ish with FA off and G5 Dirty Drag Drives, but you need to align shots well, don't you? I can manage with my FdL, not sure how my Cutter would work for me.

(add: I don't have access to the Patreus stuff and wait for PP 2.0 to decide if I should get into it)

So many spoilers! LOL

Anyway, I wanted some surface stuff too, but I can understand why they didn't do that. Odyssey is still considered "extra" for many players, so they likely had to do something that could definitely be completed by everyone.

I wouldn't be surprised if the RP crowd comes up with their own mysteries for eachother from time to time. If they don't perhaps it could be a fun little experiment for someone.

I’ve used the plasmas on an FDL, their distributor-hungry nature has made me consider whether to engineer a weapon-focused distributor for it though…

… and maybe also an overcharged plant is better for them than an armored one to run a full-strength biweave or prismatic.

I tried modshards as well, but their thermal damage (because of course [s]hard projectiles which are shot out at 6 km/s do not do any impact damage) makes them be a bit iffy against hulls (especially the CZ bullet sponges), plus they like to cook your ship, so you’d go through a lot of sinks or heat damage, neither of which is ideal.

My primary PvE (and technically PvP) combat builds are basically "space shotgun" and "melt them and their GPU".
Space shotgun is "Piece-Maker", my Mamba; essentially Plasma Accelerator and a bunch of frag cannons.
The melt them build is "Thrill-Seeker", my FDL; beam and pulse lasers with a bunch of packhounds to mess up their day once the shields are down (or before if I'm impatient).

"Piece-Maker" is wonderful in NBs. I can wipe out so many "wanteds" before I need to head back for resupply.
"Thrill-Seeker" is a bit of a glass-cannon. Wonderful one-on-one, but gets a little rough if I'm facing off with more than a handful of enemies while alone myself. (The PVP side... eh. As with most things, that's more about skill-vs-skill than build-vs-build; assuming the builds aren't just "nuke" builds.)

(You can take a look at either/both builds in my Fleet on here. They're both "complete"/"done", aside from some exp effects for Piece-Maker.)
