AHIf I discover something interesting, I'll stick around. Lately I have not managed to find anything new. Like I said before, computer games do get really boring really fast - same stupid grind over and over and over. I honestly cant understand how people stick with this stuff for years.

That comes with squadrons, BGS, politics, or roleplaying - basically the interactions you add on top of the mechanics of the game. Also, some of this depends on your gaming goals and personality - for instance you expressed that mining is boring, to some it may be relaxing. Some people spent years with the lore of the game, trying to find clues about Raxxla... everyone finds something different to busy themselves with. Or they don't, and leave again. And that's fine, too.

  1. squadrons - I do not want a NPC crew that requires micro managing.
  2. BGS - I cant honestly find a single reason why should I care about some NPC gangs and their pissing contests.
  3. politics - same as previous
  4. roleplaying - What?

Then, perhaps, there's the answer: if you can't find anything interesting in this game or around it, it's okay to leave and move on and nobody's going to judge you.

AHI have no wish to slave those monthly payments.

A couple evenings of Thargoid bashing, and the carrier could remain active for years. A week, and it can possibly outlive the servers, lol. A couple weeks more and it's probably going to outlive me IRL.

You cant do anything without massive re-engineering that requires same old crap collecting. Then lot's of rebuy screens.
What's the difference with fighting other NPC entities that require slightly less crap collecting and trips to engineers? In essence, none.

Well, AX combat is way more skill-demanding, and I know what I'm talking about, as I switched to AX after hundreds of 'human ship' CZs. So, came for the challenge, and now it's just what I do in the game.

A5 would have been better but mass manager hits the integrity and for what? 0.5 ly? It's not worth it.

Back to back tests shows a different story than 0.5 ly.

Fuel Rats mission ready configuration with 5A SCO fully engineered INCREASED RANGE - GRADE 5 ︎︎︎︎︎, the difference with MASS MANAGER is as shown below:

Jump Minimum/Current/Max.
64.64/64.65/69.97
66.80/66.71/72.35. +2.16/+2.06/+2.38. vs -8% INTEGRITY, when the average jump range of my Krait Phantom loaded for fuel rat mission is about <> 60 Ly due to distances between stars, 2.16 Ly can make the difference between an extra jump or no extra jump and that's with a full load of fuel.

Extra integrity is a great thing if you don't bother maintaining your ship at every sortie (not my thing), but 8% is a little price to pay for the extra range, that's 0.8 times out of ten for AFMU repairs if you don't use a station/FC Advanced Maintenance which includes Modules.

AH

This is it. This is the whole game. Did I miss something?

You sure did. People keep complaining about repairs and maintenance, instead of copy/pasting posts read them, there are points you can't go around...

Try to do THIS without a carrier:

Advantages: You're always have a repair base near by, a Carrier will guarantee you a stable <> 1500 Ly travel range per hour without damages to your ships, you'll have the choice between every ship in your fleet plus a reserve of modules.

Everything you quoted can be done from a FC, what I listed above can't be done without in the middle of nowhere like the Empyrean Straight or galactic center, as for finances, my FC bank credit is 7,675,739,764 Cr, without efforts.

And I forgot, if you're stranded between non refuelable stars (or FSD failure), chances are your FC can pick you up if you take care of refueling it between jumps (which I do).

Look at Azimuth, making tone deaf statements asking for people to be put down based on mere conjecture that they might be getting affected by exposure to an alien hivemind (which they are responsible for causing), and for us to make fun of.

The downside I see is that Frontier has probably been keeping Raijin alive past its natural expiry date (ok, it's not actually so natural and really rather violent) so they can be putting these things out in tune with the attack on the Titan rather than it having blown up already while they're still working through it. Maybe they'd like to consider not applying "Needs to have had damage done in the week before it explodes" reward requirement if they want it to survive to (or through) Thursday.

nah, not enough real axi cmdrs and too many lazy donkeys refuusing to do vents bombing. Otherwise Raijin would die now.

That's what I thought when I was reading the latest news. They are cooking something up but for whatever reason want Raijin to stay alive for a while. I hope this is leading somewhere interesting and maybe it's even somehow connected to PP 2.0? Or is there something novel cooking, like exploring Thargoid origins etc? I only hope is not just "we'll have to bridge the time to PP 2.0 and then have something new shiny".

Good advice. You should take it and actually read what I wrote.

Here:

So what if I can go 50-1000-9999999+K ly? What's different out there? Nothing! Absolutely nothing. Just your coordinates change. Same balls of rock, ice, metals and stars. Some are small, some are huge. Rings. Yippee ki-yay... but it's all the same.

I'm nearly sure you can fit only ONE fuel tank per ship as for the heat sinks, you have 4 UTILITY MOUNTS on the Type 8.

You can install auxiliary fuel tanks in optional internal slots along with the standard one in Core Internals

I stand corrected, in any case it goes against what I would do to increase performances of my ships, a 6A FUEL SCOOP and 5C FUEL TANK are more than enough to cover ever possibility, the worst I've seen was 3 non-refuelable stars in a row. No issue.

I think he just wanted to fill it with fuel, point it into empty space hit the gas and see how fast it went in supercruise before running out.

I think this is exactly what's happening. I fully believe the titans crit state is just a server flip

The difference are place and sectors where people haven't been before. How many players have visited the galaxy center? Did you?

I'm not interested doing "exploration" half way between the bubble and Colonia and yes there are places which are unique but you wouldn't know unless you go there.

So people can do it the old fashion way or use a Carrier as a base, which is what I have done, this way I wasn't limited by my ability to repair and get support when I needed.

but do we really have continue the thargoid war tho? Whatever they're preparing Its been two years, let us kill 2 remaining titans, end the war and get back to normal. Money is good on bugs but still.

It's starting to be the same cycle as you do in thargoid war and it's slowly starting to get boring
