Eagles, Sidewinters, etc. are not particularly tanky. I do not waste MC ammo for them at all - pulse, beam and SLF are enough (but then you need grade 5)

Episparhbut you need to use long range mod - it doubles the speed and range. In addition it removes damage falloff.
Not going into a bigger argument with you, cause I know you're in the game far longer then I am...
but...
So, our OP here literally said, that he's having trouble with fighting against smaller vessels.
And I just don't think your suggestion with using long range MCs, but then saving up on that ammo by just using his lasers, is gonna help him out...
If it were that easy for him, he wouldn't have asked in the first place.
As for me, and with such a distance above those 2km range, I hardly manage to land a good shot with a gimballed weapon anyways...
I'd just say, tag 'em with long range beams, wait where you are, let the small ships approach you, and once they are below the 2km mark, open fire.
Usually, those little ships should then loose their shields instantly and explode before they pass on by...

I am encountering higher ranked NPCs and I have no problem killing eagles, adders and sidewinder with just lasers. They do not last more than few seconds. When I am bored I just leave the NPC SLF crew to play with them.
The problem with the build in question and in matter of fact your improvements is range. Clearly no problem staying close to large ships but the DPS against small and agile ships drops because they trend to go out of the optimal 1.5km and deploy chaff when in range.
My build do not care if the target is 0.5 or 6 km away. In matter of fact sometimes I "tag" the targets with the MCs at 8km distance. On paper it is lower DPS but over time it delivers more damage at range.

Another question: I came across of reference to bulkhead XR-2A in the game when I was visiting unauthorised installation in ISTANU-1F. That structure has a maintenance tunnel for those bulkheads. Does anybody heard or know something about them? Thanks

Shg56Are 1D guardian gauss cannons with rapid fire mod available now or it was just a reward for the community goal?
They are available in the Mbooni system.
It's permit locked, so you need the clearance from the Azimuth Biotech minor faction before entering.
They can be bought there at a special Trade Broker, per unit (like the 5A Frameshift Drive V1).
But they are widely considered "not worth it".

I concur. They are not worse in anyway but different and not better either.

Sir-Duke1D guardian gauss cannons..they are widely considered "not worth it".
Are they like imperial hammers for gauss?

Yes, damage is distributed in sequence for short duration. If you miss initial aim you can compensate for the following hits. Unfortunately, if you break your aim during short duration you do less damage.

I have, in the past, had some success in finding Horizon (ship) missions entitled:
“Surface recovery of [x] skimmer components for [war effort]”
I thought they were obtainable from any starport with minor factions in a state or Civil War or War.
In the last week I’ve found surface recovery for nerve agents, landmines and hostage but not a single skimmer component.
What criteria am I missing in my station search?

Sorry if it's been asked already, but what am I supposed to do in a Post Thargoid Recovery system? I am currently in Kaurakat after fighting at Phillifent Port, but now that I've returned, the missions there seem as if the war never occurred. I don't see anything regarding 'delivery construction materials'. All the other ports are abandoned save a couple of space ports that my Anaconda couldn't fit in anyway.

Have a look at the galaxy map and see what's required for the post-goid recovery in the system. That may help.

EpisparhPost-Thargoid recovery is automated process and players contribution is irrelevant... At least this is what I saw coming from Op Ida after some observations.
Thanks for the answer. My Anaconda is still useless for the war then (too slow to escape hyperdictions and too high a rebuy to risk it). Which is why I switched to the Orca.
