HaythamUse EDDB.io to find modules.
And trade is also easier to use at that site.

Would you like to elaborate what exactly is easier? For both modules and trades, it can be a good feedback...

Just have a look at their Single and Multi-Hop Trade Route Finders, I don't think Inara has anything like it. (The first can probably be achieved here, but not as user-friendly by a long shot, that I'm aware of; the latter you simply don't offer I'm quite sure. I find it indispensable.) Modules I'm not so sure of, I think yours is just as practical.

It feeds right into what I was saying btw: I've seen people say they consider using such trade helpers cheating, but if I were an IRL trader or investor, I'd be checking the papers or their online equivalent for the daily stock market listings, no? It's beyond comical the game doesn't offer anything like it (beyond the hopelessly rudimentary data on it it does offer), if you think about it.

What EXACTLY isn't user friendly on it, that's my point (speaking of the classic trade route search). You visit trade route search, put source station, adjust parameters if needed (which are remembered across sessions), alternatively also put the target star system/station there and done? I think it's fairly simple and easy, so I am curious about the specific friction points.

Heheh, now that you mention. I compared with the old Inara even for good measure, but have to admit I can't see anything less practical about it. It must be a section I readily overlooked somehow. Write it down to my already having gotten familiar with EDDB before I did so with Inara, so just a matter of habit. And, well, maybe I got lost a little at a swift glance at all the other options there (in the old version at least), popular and profitable routes and so on. But so, no, yours looks just fine.

Yuna SakashiroI'm counting on my DBX being cold enough to be ignored.

Well, that didn't work.

I went to Bright Sentinel in HIP 22460 to see how the Goids would react to my ship. Maximum heat was 16%. Things went well in the beginning. The first Goid spawned, used its EMP, then moved on. Another one spawned, used the EMP, scanned me, moved on. A third one spawned, used the EMP, then a fourth one. Suddenly two of the four turned aggro and started shooting at me. I hadn't done anything different than the first time, just floating in space with 0% throttle, staying nice and cool. First insurance claim on my current save file.

I see, thanks for the clarification.

I haven't had any issues with it. Takes me very little time to find any route I'm looking for (assuming such a route exists in the first place). I think things like this tend to fall under the "it's not what I am used to so therefore it is not as good" category. Personally I have not used eddb.io in a looooong time.

Being cold, messes with Thargoids' aim if you keep a right angle and distance.

Yeah, cold orbiting. But my 80Ly DBX is cardboard and slow. They would have caught me anyway.

These new aggressive Thargoids really change the game. It's a paradigm shift. Danger is no longer optional in ED, at least not to the extent it used to be. Players will have to rethink their builds; even explorers in solo are no longer safe if Goids turn aggro during hyperdictions.

On a somewhat related note, last night I changed my controls setup so I can supercruise with the keyboard. Relative mouse is now on by default. I need to get serious about FA off if I want to get anywhere with PvP or AX combat. Especially the Cutter requires FA off for fast turns.

I looked at those scripts for toggling relative mouse, but I just couldn't be bothered to set up vJoy and all the other stuff they require.

Oh, received tons of shit right into my face from AXI folks on their discord just because I use FA-On.

Technically speaking you can keep orbit with boosting and constant changes in controls. Kraits are good at that thanks to large PD.
The truth is that It is far harder than simply using FA-off.

I occasionally tested FA off with my Mamba and my FDL (on my previous save), and the difference to FA on was subtle and not necessarily worth the setup change. But that's because those ships are quite nimble by default.

With a Cutter however, the advantage of FA off becomes huge and undeniable. It's in-your-face obvious, and once you've seen it, you don't want to go back to FA on any more.

Although I hate flying supercruise with keys. It feels like daddy's Elite from the 1980s. Looking forward to my first interdiction with this setup...

btw. azimuth offers access to theire hybrid anti xeno moduls with the running cg.. hmm did they mean the last moddified ax weapons from one past cg ? would be nice. no matter, an easy way to get some extra money..

So let me get this straight: For AX combat the choice is now between Guardian weapons that no longer work everywhere, and "advanced" human weapons that require Guardian materials to synthesize ammo?

Any chance to fight Goids with "normal" weapons?
01 Sep 2022, 4:30pm
normal weapons have only effect against theire shields not the hearts and they are not very effective
here´s a good (older) weapon / combat beginner guide Anti-Xeno Combat, PvE, Guardian Weapons

We need an off-topic smiley

So, ahem. How does one go about gathering 25 occupied space pods? According to the wiki, they can be found in circumstances so general that it bears not mentioning.

(I guess one could run 25 missions for them and pay off the fines for not turning them in, but I was hoping for something less roundabout.)
