And building a Type-10 as combat ship is my definition of stupidity in this game.

QuillmonkeyI’ve bought maybe half dozen scorpions but then I store my vehicle hangar on my FC. When I come to re-equip, only scarabs to be had. Not sure where all the scorpions go.
SRV type is bound to Planetary vehicle hangar. You can change the type only in station where SRVs are sold.
Or at least that are my observations of how it works.

More accurately, each vehicle hangar gets equipped with one or more vehicle bays, and the vehicle bay determines the type of SRV it can use as "ammo". So it's possible to have a single class 4 hangar with one Scarab and one Scorpion. That's what I have in my Cutter.
Any station or carrier with the armory service can rearm any vehicle bay with a matching new SRV, but changing the bay requires the outfitting service.

strange. have done that too. bought some vehicle hangers.. bought some scorpions.. and than stored them like you at my fc and several stations.. later i transfered them and all stayed like i prepared them for shipping. the scorpion are still in the arriving hangers when i reinstalled them.

Sir-DukeKurakilThat reminds me... does anyone even use the Scorpion? Personally I do far better with the Scarab in combat, not to mention every other circumstance.
I use the scorpion most of the time.
I literally hate from the depth of my heart, how the Scarab handles itself.
Never ever in my whole gaming life have I hated to drive a vehicle so much, as I hate the Scarab.
If it's not utterly necessary; I'd always prefer the scorpion.
I find the scarab is much more usable when I have drive assist off and use analog inputs for throttle and steering. It's then even better than the Scorpion.
Basically, if I can feather the gas and brake, it's much more manageable. Drive assist is an abomination and should never be used.

Another tip for mouse control in general: reduce the dead zone. The default setting is way too large, making small adjustments difficult.

Yuna SakashiroTo properly fly the Scarab with a mouse, make sure to enable relative mouse for SRV pitch and roll in the settings. It's off by default.

I use Q/E for roll both on ship and SRV. That leaves the mouse to care only for pitch on SRV and it is quite manageable even with relative mouse disabled.

Who knows what it'll do next?
Edit: Shortly after I posted the above, it reduced its speed back down to <1ly per hour. Its speed seems to change erratically and as a consequence we can't really meaningfully forecast its arrival anymore.

It's nice that Inara can display the full extent of ED's insanity on a single page like that. It makes you think, is the gameplay I might get out of that build really worth that much grind? Probably not. I guess I'll play something else instead.
don´t give it up, if you stay tuned on collecting and only watching for the high grade emissions it don´t take so much time. you can trade down the highest materials to the needed ones. it´s just work to fill the 5 grades up. half a year ago i was able to full engineering an anaconda in 2 days, before i went to battle, together with commander karinka, for some ax action. funny times
