It sure does look like a massive witch space bubble being moved , similar to what one sees on a smaller scale when Goids pop in and out of whatever it is they use for Faster then light travel,
first time weve ever seen them using something akin to Supercruise I think.
Guess their megaships would travel similarly to our FSD does since we did steal that tech from them too

I can hear that exact behemoth like sound from way further out doe.

Pointing at this exact area it's clearest and center balanced, you can hear the sound emanating from that pixel at the crosshair lmao.

It is a bit quieter due to distance no doubt, but anyone in the bubble should be able to hear it.

I went to Barnard's Loop and didn't see anything. Guess I was too late.

Anyway, it was nice taking the 80Ly DBX out for a ride. It's spending most of its time catching dust.

I have to say, this is the coolest content I've seen in the game since I joined two years ago. An object of that size rapidly moving towards the bubble across systems, an it's not just a Galnet broadcast talking about it but something that's actually observable. Wow!

FDev recently said there's trouble ahead for Sol. It seems they weren't kidding.

Thargoids obliterating the Heart of the Federation? Imperials approve.

That's always been the reason I have a hard time really immersing myself in the game to any real extent. Most of the time you just read/hear about stuff second hand but never really see any of it. We'll see what happens.

Someone on the forums correctly pointed out that if we see this thing from 250Ly away, it was there 250 years ago.

So there may not be imminent danger for the bubble after all...

And of course there should be no sound in the FSS, unless it's picking up electromagnetic waves at frequencies in the audible range. And even then, the Thargoid "sound" reaching the bubble from Barnard's Loop would be some 1,500 years old.

Witchspace magic.

KayominSo there's some massive goid like dot in the sky getting closer to the bubble majoras mask style, pleas no.

Fascinating and eerie at same time. At a first look seems to me like a kind of space anomaly or wormhole. But is just an impression.

I went for a look see and got hyperdicted by 3 goid interceptors. They shadowed me for a bit then ripped my AspX to pieces when I tried to run.

It was reported to be only observable with Odyssey (4.0). Horizon commanders couldn't see it.
Might be part of those new 4.0 possibilities they talked about in their last blogs.

AspX can easily outrun all thargoid interceptors if engineered properly.

It is as fast as FDL.

And FDL isn't the fastest ship, actually. But, it can easily outrun the Basilisk when engineered. And if the manoeuvre is performed properly. Thargoids lose much speed when they're turning around.
