Mac4Is there really no other way to enter and exit concourses than by doing the jog-walk there?

Dang, tired of imersive walking in hangar? Frankly, it is just another time sink.

I'll take that as a confirmation that there isn't then, thanks. That's pretty ridiculous, yeah. Oh, well, and all that. (It's also nice how you then have to confirm where you want to take the elevator, as if there's anywhere else to go.)

Yum KaxThe targeting reticule on my cutter keeps disapearing when in combat, any suggestions please

Hmm. Aside from checking your game settings, have you checked your ship settings in the right-hand commander panel, so within the game itself? If you go >Ship >Pilot Preferences there, you can set your Gun Sight Mode to either leading or trailing. Maybe you're trailing behind?

(Frankly, I can never tell the difference between my own sights and those of my AI turrets, so I just pew-pew kind of on target and well it seems to do the job. No pvp here, obvs. No sights at all does sound messy!)

MeowersI just don't get it. Why one would buy a space flight game if they don't want to fly? To actually pilot the craft from A to B?

Well, arguably to some people it may be more about the destination, than the journey there. In-system hyperjumping does seem sorely missing, for no good reason that I can think of, lore-wise that is.

EpisparhWell, some games have intra-system warps that significantly speeds traveling between two points in space for those who need it.

Would you like to sit on Voyager probe since 1977 till when it reaches Proxima Centauri ?

EpisparhThe most interesting thing is if you are in a team to see how other CMDRs run to the ship.

Yeah, original single-player games had that time compression thing that, obviously, can't be incorporated into multi-player, and in-system jumps will make player interdictions almost impossible. But it's FDev's miss again, making the flight itself entertaining enough is possible with an effort from a game design department. I have some ideas about seeing it less 'automated', requiring more manual control of the ship, but I'm no game designer.

They could've used nav beacons at certain waypoints within a system, which require you to drop into normal space - adding some additional opportunities for PvP if you had to wait for a short cooldown. Doesn't mean one would have to replace SC altogether, but it'd be an alternative way to travel.

Alas, staring at a timer for 10 minutes+ without much to do more often than not won it in the end.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I like my slow-paced largely-set-your-own-goals gameplay well enough, and for a reason. Plenty of fast-paced connect-these-dots action-on-steroids games out there, tyvm.

You're right ofc about the multiplayer aspect, hadn't considered it from that angle. Hm. Well, surely our Destinies and Warframes and what-have-you's (etc. and so on) tend to incorporate hyper travel, some way or another? I mean I should know, though honestly I tend to forget.

EpisparhAt least you do not need to run the entire ship from the pilot sit to the stairs

Maybe not inside the ship, but in many hangers you have to run the entire length of the ship to get to the tubes that are waaay behind in the back of the hangar. So those ships with the stairs in the front make you run that much farther just to get to the elevators. I guess hangar interiors were easier to make than ship interiors. In nearly every aspect of the game there is significant downtime of not doing anything or not being able to do anything. It is built in to the game itself.

If you get the Increased Sprint Duration mod on a suit you can jog the entire way. No walking required.

I was't trying to say that making the flight more entertaining meant turning it into NFS or GTA in space, but nevermind. I'm out. Completely tired.

a quick question Commanders. WHen buying faction weapons once you have unlocked them, can I buy them only from the factions' own space or can I get them at any station?

If by faction weapon you refer to special power play modules the answer is:

You can buy them from anywhere - usually Jameson Memorial.

I think I was trying to agree with you? Hope you had a good rest

Yeah, not great with a 150-meter Anaconda.

I'm already starting to feel these on-foot missions are far too finicky to stay fun for very long. There's too much micro-managing, think of this, that and the other before and after you get down to business. With flight missions, too, btw I'm not big on this mechanic of having to return to origin to complete mission. There's no sense of progress, I much prefer ending up in a new destination.

Oh, well (tm)

So long as you're pledged to that power; thought it bears repeating.

So how do we use e-breaches?

For the second time now, I'm on an Odyssey crash site salvage mission, featuring a locked crate, presumably holding the needed item since it's nowhere else to be found.

Equipping my e-breaches, it says B to use (controller), but it won't let me, and there's a clear stop sign saying doing so is illegal. Thanks, that's what it's there for, yes. Moreover, I dropped one e-breach trying to see if maybe I had to equip it from backpack, and it even refuses to let me pick it up again, again suggesting that's illegal. I mean I know I play largely by the law, but this is ridiculous.

Help?
