Although I finished a few days ago, I checked today and grinding the remainder of my combat ranks managed to get me to 15th place in combat for the squadron leaderboards currently. A squadron of 1 mind you. Now if only that mattered.

Yesterday I built a Krait Phantom for exploration. It has two seats, so if anyone wants to join me in telepresence or physical multi-crew while I stress-test the ship in open, hit me up! I'll be doing my usual gank evasion stuff in ShinDez or Deciat, so don't forget to bring barf bags if you need them.

When taking off from the jaques Station, I accidentally crushed the NPC Cobra (I was on Anaconda and in the maximum shitty graphics mode, I just didn’t see it), after which I was immediately shot and I lost all the research data that I had accumulated over 3 days of independent flight to Colonia. What a shame...

Also, is it possible to write to the support service in order to restore all the accumulated data, or is this an unforgivable cringe?

so far i know they are gone.. dont worry, 3 days are not so much, other people lost much more.. at beginning at the game i lost a week of exploring datas, you dont want to know how, lol

Bumping into other ships is sometimes hard to avoid, but if your speed is less than 100m/s you won't even get fined for it.

I caught up with the exit from the station and pulled on the afterburner from the spaceport. The poor NPC was smeared like under the wheels of a train (~750 ton projectile flying at a speed of 300 m/s is not a joke) (((

If your ship cannot tank starport guns, do not ever exceed 100m/s inside no-fire zone(or at least the 2-3km perimeter around mail slot)

If you bump in a ship and it dies, you won't be fined or attacked as long as your speed was less than 100m/s during the collision.

I... always go fast. Max speed at 4 pips until I'm nearing the toaster. I slow down to middle-of-optimal-speed-zone on the throttle at 4 pips (whatever that may be on any given ship) shortly before I enter the toaster so I can maneuver better. I've never obliterated a ship by doing so but occasionally I scrape someone's shield bubble. And when the npc ships are in the toaster, their position is locked, they will not rotate, and they cannot be moved so if you get stuck there, they will not move to let you maneuver yourself loose and you have to exit to main menu before you are targeted for obstructing the entrance.

I recently bumped a frozen NPC ship out of the mailslot with my Cutter. If you push them far enough, they suddenly come alive and boost away.
