Alex Hoffmann .... orscanninghacking megaships -think epi can tell you more about that.. it´s not my usall practise.
For hacking since/research megaships you need recon limpets. You can get up to MEF from that process.

No, there is no such scanner, you just hit the dry spell for encoded. I think it is scripted that way by FD.

A frameshift wake scanner can be used to farm some materials from high wakes. The best place to do that is in front of high traffic stations, or maybe around tourist beacons.
I still prefer farming Jameson's crash site though.

Frameshift scanner can get hit by dry spell, as well. Scripts are everywhere to make ED experiences more difficult for example did you notice when you are farming for the raw the minerals that you actually need very hard to find even though they should be plentiful on the planet you landed?

I was eager to hear what her, hopefully reliable, hacker had managed to discover. In truth, I had little hope. Had they met? How good were they? Hoped she had enough negotiating skills not to pay 'up-front. Money was not an issue for me, having made and lost several fortunes before unexpectedly inheriting more than I could spend. But you don't get rich by spending more than you absolutely have to.

I don’t think that’s true. The issue is not one of scripting, but of reading the data right. I find raws drop as expected so long as you have the correct geo/bios and a decent proportion (separate from the percentage).

The most annoying occurrence of dry spell is the absence of high-grade emissions. Sometimes I can go system to system for an hour without finding any HGEs. So for quick collection of manufactured materials, relogging on the first HGE you find is pretty much essential. Unfortunately, unlike other relogging tricks, relogging on a HGE requires quitting the game entirely. The single reason why my current fleet of ships is so small is because I hate collecting manufactured materials for engineering. The process is either frustratingly slow or mind-numbingly boring.
