Found a new bug (because tradition).

Remember when you were able to teleport straight back to base after relogging after completing a ground CZ?

They fixed it.

By spawning you to the starter system HIP 97950 or whatever it is. Currently Apexing it back across 140LY where I meant to be.


Also, the sheer number of (new and old) UI issues incl soft locks is absolutely ridiculous.

Shg56]it appears it has more to do with graphics\quality\upscaling. If I switch to normal from AMD FSR 1.0, it shows like it was in 3.8 but I am losing 40FPS right away which I don't want to lose per say.


Turning off FSR, and so setting your upscaling to Normal, is nonetheless the solution commonly given. That it defaults to on in Odyssey seems to be rather in error.

Just had a look to see what System Permits I have, most I know but what the heck is the ODYSSEY TESTING PERMIT??? that’s one I haven’t seen before.

Good question. Try https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDangerous/comments/z42mwv/why_does_odyssey_test_permit_exist/ . That it would be a placeholder for the Kingfisher system permit (or somesuch) seems plausible to me.

Finally, I have ventured into the Maelstrom Taranis. My build needs adjustment though after seeing what it does from first hand.

If you go there just for material collecting - use B collectors and repair limpets controller.

Repair limpet controller > Universal Limpet controller as it repair more.
B collectors as they have the highest range.
Take at least 2 MRPs as one is too low (If you have slots for AFMU , get one)
Energy weapons can destroy Caustic generators - long range is preferred as they slap you with energy surge if you go closer.

P.S. New AX CZs around starports are such a fun. Bunch of nice chaps in open and good payouts.

Update 14 brought quite a lot of issues for the UI. Either technical (soft locks, both galaxy map and system map are wonky temporarily - usually these can be resolved by either using the mouse, or logging), or functional (like getting dumped into the warehouse screen when accepting missions, making stacking trade missions without loading cargo a pain with many more clicks required).

I'm currently working the mission board for Azimuth to unlock the Mbooni permit, and noticed that when you filter by the faction and then select the "all missions" option, it doesn't actually show all missions available - i.e. if you go into trade missions, there'll be more missions available.

Everything seems that little bit more irritating when running missions, I'm just glad I'm not into the BGS (which apparently is having major issues as well, ouch) and once I've unlocked the permit I will steer clear of it as much as I can.

It is good but all old bugs still standing, performance is still BS and instancing is garbage(I had so many broken instances today)

The change is most likely intentional, probably decided upon by someone who doesn't play the game and/or doesn't test the experience after it has been implemented.

As for how many missions, it was around 70, but couldn't tell you exactly how many. Can't say I've seen this before but it wouldn't surprise me if it's a legacy issue.

As for U14 being the dog's bollocks... I wouldn't go that far, it's a decent effort and I for sure like the direction this is going in the medium to long term (BGS and activities wise), but as so often it stumbles over itself when it comes to execution (or rather, not fixing stuff that's been in disarray for ages, which is pretty weak given the next larger update/patch will probably not be for another quarter of a year or longer).

Beggars can't be choosers though and we probably need to be grateful we're getting thrown a bone at all. But it's true that it has invigorated my desire to play the game more intensely again, even if the focus is perhaps a bit narrow (as in AX). I'll take it though.
