Prom3theanTurns out Shinrarta has a hacker spawning unfathomable amounts of Thargoids, I'd avoid it for a while until it's taken care of

Every time something is off in the game, I wonder if it's a bug or intentional.
Because in Frontier's case you can never really tell for sure. Remember the space station that was falling out of orbit towards a planet? Everyone was like, WOW! AWESOME CONTENT! Remember the Thargoid in CQC? SURPRISE! COOLEST THING EVER!
And then they fixed it.
For a while I actually thought the Stargoid was just a bug.

Plus lots of explosions going off. I was stuck in outfitting mode with my ships systems reacting like I’d been hit by a swarm.

MeowersPlayed with dual T16000Ms and it was an amazing, immersive experience, especially with lights off and a big monitor in front of me. Played with KB+M a bit after that and it looked and felt like a joke, a total disappointment. Even if all those 'professionals' tell that KB+M is the most efficient setup. Maybe, but, in terms of enjoying the gameplay, I'd still recommend playing with a pair of sticks. I remember, when I just started playing Elite, I thought about buying a stick in a first week, it was an aftermarket T-Flight-X, like, I wanted to have something cheap just to get the feeling, planning on buying a better setup if I like it. HOTAS is an option too, however, we're in space and with a second stick you may have more freedom of movement.
Bought a T16000M HOTAS a few weeks ago, predominantly for MSFS2020, but figured I should try it with Elite. While it is more immersive, my 7+ years of muscle memory playing the game with an Xbox One pad meant my flying abilities got far worse when using the stick and throttle, especially during twitchy combat scenarios like fighting Interceptors.
I've gone back to gamepad, but the HOTAS does get a lot of use with MSFS which is a much better experience with it (even more so helicopters as I fly without assists) - especially the throttle with its aileron trim wheel and rudder pads - but it does feel like overkill for Elite. And while I play X4 with M&K (it allows for both gamepad and HOTAS controls, even comes with presets for both) I can't see myself switching to that for Elite either. Gamepad & Elite feels right to me, even more so since the onfoot stuff got added i.e. no need to switch control methods either.

Wouldn't surprise me if 3.8 becomes a hacker's home once it's seperated from the live game - I doubt FDev will spend much time rooting out this kind of behaviour there.
