Thanks in advance...

PS. How to find stations that need rescue passengers? I'm not doing great fighting goids and want to try rescue....

Hi there CMDR,
my setup for the moment, ax combat only
great for scouts and cyclops

https://inara.cz/elite/cmdr-fleet-ship/367933/3889079/

you can find rescue missions in any thargoid state system,
ports that are just burning ( yellow flame icon) are the best for evac, no active thargoid attack and they offer more cargo based wounded evacs
that also gives you oportunity to bring the cargo so check mission board for what they need
in cargo
out passangers in the pods
no running empty
cheers

My surface scanner:

If I see your picture right;
the planet you've chosen simply doesn't have any specific geological signals anymore.

But trust me, there are still plenty of planets out there, which offer different types of geological signals.

You was right, thanks.

But in other Planet with geological signals I was avaible to see the blue interface and I navigate throught the filters but nothing change on the vienes. What I have to look for??

When nothing does change with the filters, and everything is blue all the time, that means all those geological formations can be found almost everywhere on that planet.

With Odyssey, geological and biological signals are much more "realistic" now.

You don't have 10 or 20 single spots on the entire planet anymore, like it was in Horizon...
To be fair, nature usually doesn't work that way.
It will now spread out on way bigger areas, like it would be in reality.

The game is now telling you a "higher chance" to find the geo formation or bio signal.

If you're lucky, you'll find your signal everywhere, in all blue parts, in thousands and thousands of formations.
If you're less lucky, a "higher chance" may only mean a 1% chance to find it at all and you're probably still won't find anything.

Awesome thank you for the help...I am going to go try and do my part in the war!!
I appreciate the response!!

To this I will add that the DSS overlay shows only areas where a particular geological or biological feature may occur; however, for each geo/bio feature, there are also specific types of terrain where they can occur (you can call it another layer of realism). For geo features, it broadly means terrain that looks like there has been some recent geological activity there, i.e. around mountains (especially those that have a volcanic look to them), near rifts, and like.

A good way to locate geo features is to land, hop into the SRV, and drive around. If there are no signals on the wave scanner, hop back into the ship and fly elsewhere.

o7 cmdrs, I have 2 questions re. xeno ships. Do xeno ships need long range sensors? I am using 4A moded to 5G light on my chief but it does not seem to be a perfect fit for xeno fights. Would other thermal effects like shock work against thargoid scouts, since vent is affecting them? Thanks

Hi there CMDR Shg56,

I recently, after few rebuys and lots of experimentation, found the ax combat to be fun times.
My game style is to tank the ship and ram your targets, so keep that in mind.

I use D rated sensonrs with light mod. For ax combat I get close and personal to get any meaningful effect.
All non ax weapons do damage to only scouts -70%, so its due able but painfully slow, the big flowers need ax or guardian weapons to take them out.

Right now I am using
https://inara.cz/elite/cmdr-fleet-ship/367933/3701686/
the anaconda guardian hull tank with four class 3 gimbaled adv ax multis, one class 2 beam long range with thermal vent, and 3 adv missle lunchers with synth ammo for ax

adv ax multis shred scouts
beam is more for getting thargoids attention than dealing any miningfull damage
and missiles are great for exposing and taking down hearts on big flowers if you can aim that is.

any questions ?
good luck

Tomciopalecany questions ?...good luck

I built my first xeno ship which is chief. and it is also tanked. I am using 3 gimbaled AX adv. multis plus 3 beams in the small slots. It works fine against scouts but its sensor 4A light 6.72 km range seems a bit low so I am considering to upgrade it to long instead but I am not sure if it should be up to level 5 since it will add another 10t to the ship and reduce its speed. I like beams even though they are only 23% effective but they are all long ranged that allows me to start damaging scouts already at 5km before the multis kick in at 2km range. Also beams requires no ammunition to worry about. 1 beam vents and 2 other oversized but I am wondering if I mod those 2 with thermal shock instead, would thermal shock affect scouts the same way as human ships? Thanks

Also, Fl1ks, it's very possible that the heat signal from a particular bio type is so small you have to descend really close to even see it. I saw an instance where the heat signature was so small--and only located in one very tiny spot on the dark side--that it only became visible after crossing into the middle of the orbital range. You'd have never seen it if it was on the light side.

So I figured out how to stay alive in ax cz's and had a wonderful time with other players doing my part to save humanity! And when I docked and looked I got 133,000,000 Cr

Unreal....9 weeks Carrier maintenance in about an hour give or take....I lost track of time.....

I heard somewhere that there was a development for the ability to use a 5th experimental on my ship. Any truth to this??

It’s official — see the Galnet (and also the current CGs).

For those who are interested, I ran test, thermal shock does not work against thargoid vessels.
