I just posted a screenshot in my gallery, but this was certainly interesting. Palin Research Centre, which was evacuated years ago now, does in fact have an engineer-type hangar interior. There is music playing from the Inisght datapad on his table like all other bases. There's even NPC ships landing. It is also littered with debris, including some on landing pads. This does not stop you from landing however. Sadly, you cannot disembark, and the planet is also too hot to stay disembarked for long outside on the surface.

Thanks for the tip — I happen to be in Maia right now and of course had to visit it.
The planet’s rotation period is 1.6 d, so it was already near the sunset, most of the station was in shadow and it was, in fact, possible to leave the SRV and walk around without overheating (just barely, the temp was still around 780 K). Nice views there

EDIT — A word of warning, when I arrived there were a number of Thargoid Scouts zooming around and they of course attacked me on the spot. They disappeared before I deployed the SRV, though.

Damn looks like I missed the show lol. Was not a Thargoid in sight when I was there last night.

o7 cmdrs,
Is Anaconda or Cutter better for Xeno against interceptors above cyclops? I have xeno Chief, it is very good against scouts and cyclops but it is lacking weapon power, hull strengths and flight skills of its commander when I am trying to fight xeno of higher ranks. I ran both ships on EDSY and it shows that Anaconda is tougher on hull but somewhat not as good as Cutter with speed, weapons placement and heat stats. Thanks

With the caveat that it can depend on your preferred style of AX combat, I would say Cutter is better. Anaconda wins only in raw hull, and loses badly in shields and speed.

That said, Corvette wins with a Cutter in terms of hull and manoeuvrability, although it loses somewhat in terms of firepower and shields (though the latter can be easily offset by fitting two 7A SCBs on a Corvette — while a Cutter can have a 8A+6A SCB combo, it is more difficult to power it due to Cutter’s power-hungry thrusters).

Here are example builds that fit my preferred combat style (station-side or planet-side AX CZs): Cutter, Corvette. Note that Cutter’s build has to use a Monstered experimental effect for its power plant, while Corvette uses a Double Braced one (and still has power to spare).

Thank you for the input, both are interesting builds - combination of heavy shielding and hulls. My playing style is a captain Solo in low XZ, I hate losing ships vs. captain Hero trying to save humanity. So I would like to have a ship capable of fighting scouts and intercepts of any kind or places though I don't want to restock ammunition except AFMU and heatsinks. Thanks again.

My 2c: Cutter. I prefer having the speed to either keep interceptors close or far away when I want to.

Is yours shieldless or you're also running it combo like Sampi. ?

Combo. It's a passenger evac vessel, not really intended for combat, just enough shields & weapons to dust off scouts near landing pads. Enough hull to withstand some damage for a while if I take fire or fly through some caustic.

I have been toying with the idea of a combat build similar to Sampi's, I will likely use Prismatics and a hybrid Guardian power plant, swap one of the shield reinforcements for a heat sink launcher, and probably do without the SCBs.

Well, it looks like you are playing coy, I looked at your xeno stats. you killed higher beasts than cyclops so what ship did you use to do that? If you don't want to share that's also fine.

Lol, I do a fair amount of AX combat, but I've only ever soloed Cyclops and Basilisks. The Medusa/Hydra kills were with other pilots. I'm not sure how FDEV allocates credit for shared kills, because I've gotten the payout for lots more Medusa/Hydra kills than I have received kill credit for. But at least for a few of those I did get kill credit.

For fighting interceptors, I prefer my Krait Mk2 and my Chieftain, although I have soloed Cyclops and Basi's in my Type 10 scout killer as well.

I was replying back re: the Cutter and preferring speed because I used to use an Anaconda in AX, and it was just dreadfully slow and not nimble enough for me. I had a hard time outrunning caustic, which had a series of implications about how I had to fight. It meant that I had to spend more time doing decon, more of my build had to be focused on decon (decon limpet controller & cargo rack) and if I lost my cargo hatch in combat I could lose my limpets entirely. Also, it meant that if I got within 1km in front of an interceptor, it could charge forward faster than I could move back and I was more likely to be pulled in close with a lightning attack and have my shields stripped. Also, when on the attack against a Basilisk and a heart gets exerted, it often boosts away from me. I can't keep up with that in an Anaconda, and I risk having the heart being restored before I can destroy it, enraging the Basi and making the whole battle harder/longer.

I'm not sure how I managed Basi kills the the Type 10. I think that ship is just too stupid to know when to die.

It took me 2 months to find the right tuning against scouts and cyclops for Chief (shield or shieldless, weapons, heat management, combination of HRPs and MRPs and etc). It appears that for solo against Basi and up you need a ship of different build and I don't want to spend another 2 months of tuning that ship again which in the end could fail. That's why I am fishing for setups capable of taking on Basi. before I start building her. Though caustics are not a big issue anymore since introduction of caustic launcher that is need to have utility for xeno. Thank you again and good hunting.

Howdy Cmdr's,
Looking to find out if there are any websites where fleet carrier owners publish their journey schedules.
Currently out in the Black exploring for most of the year. (docked at Colonia before carrying on with heading towards Beagle P)
Last year i managed to find a Carrier docked at Colonia that was heading back to the bubble via some site tours, so i was able to travel along.

So, if anyone knows of any sites where fleet carrier owners place their travel itinerary, please let me know.
I use Fleetcarrier.space, however the info in there is patchy and not up to date.

Any info would be appreciated.

o7 Cmdrs.

Thanks for the info Cmdrs'

Try the Fleet Carrier Owner's Club discord channel. The shuttle services advertise their routes there.
