Best thing I have on that megaship is that it was supposed to be a “new home” for the cult’s members, according to this article.

https://www.elitedangerous.com/news/galnet/federal-forces-target-true-chapters

Found it when I did some digging to figure out the whereabouts of each of their megaships. Which also led me to find a (relatively) old description of the First Apostle.

https://www.elitedangerous.com/news/galnet/far-god-cult-condemns-salvation

A video message from a hooded young woman aboard the Testament, the cult’s missionary vessel, was transmitted directly to the newsfeed Vox Galactica:

“This plan to entrap and destroy the heralds of the Far God must cease immediately. As the newly appointed First Apostle of the True Chapters, I beseech those in authority not to support Salvation’s evil crusade. To slaughter these holy beings is a monstrous act of deicide.”

Dr Alfred Ulyanov, a leading authority on the enigmatic sect, commented:

“We cannot identify the messenger, although her Imperial accent is a surprise considering the cult has been outlawed in the Empire. […]”

(Aka my basis for saying that First Apostle and Seo are not the same person.)

hi there, want to ask an info about trade.

today i really tried hard, maybe 20-30 times different trades but every time failed.
last example: want to sell bauxite. it shows that

Rukavishnikov Hub | Trepin wants to buy. Demand is 563,077 and prices is 12,555 Cr, update: now!!!

well after a few minutes i saw that demand is 167,052 and the price is 1,395 Cr!

what is my mistake(s)? any help?

thnx in advance.

utkuborghi there, want to ask an info about trade.

As far as I am aware Inara does not provide real-time prices. The demand/price you see could be a few minutes old, or a few hours old depending on when stats were updated and the last time someone visited a particular station. Here are my suggestions for making money trading:

  • Don't waste time looking at supply/demand and prices. You will never really generate enough income to make the time spent worth it.
  • In INARA, Use DATA>Trade Routes>BestTradeRoutes. Put in a reference system, the max distance and cargo capacity. This will generate a list of routes and how much money you could potentially make per hour.  However, be sure the stations listed have enough resources on hand. There is no use running a 100mil/hr trade route if there are only enough resources available to make 2 mil in profit.
  • In addition to the above, you might want to consider taking missions such as transporting or retrieving materials for a station. This is slow credits and will not make you rich. However, like other missions, it can be a decent reputation generator and serve to fill out unused cargo space.
  • Mining. There are two ways to mine, I'll call them "traditional mining" and "trade mining."
    •  Traditional mining can be lucrative in a solo or group instance if you can stand the monotony and the PvE pirate attacks. It is a matter of finding stations paying premium prices for material and a place nearby to mine that material. 100tons of cargo at 700K/ton is 70mil credits.
    •  Trade Mining is what I prefer and how I made the majority of my credits There are mining missions where you can buy the commodity at another station rather than mine it. If a mission to mine 200 gold pays 50 million, so what if I have to pay 15mil to buy that gold. I just made 35mil profit for very little time and effort.

Try to trade within a small area. The fewer jumps you have to make, the better. I went from Trade Elite to Trade EliteV in Colonia using the above three suggestions and never had to go more than 30LY from Colonia to do it. So, no more than two jumps in a Type9 with 640 tons of cargo.

Also an important thing - please ensure you are playing Live game version (so Horizons 4.0 or Odyssey on PC). Since the game update 14, Inara and all major tools are working only with the Live game. From your description, I guess that may be the problem.

I agree, but you don't have to go al the way to Colonia you can find some good routes in the bubble.

Silver is usually fairly high profit, it you go between Extraction/refinery and service or Tourism stations.
Also taking Transport missions for mining metals, Silver, gold or Cobalt are good, just find somewhere you can buy them instead of mining.
(also avoid trading to surface stations, they can look good for profit but landing/taking off is time consuming. It might be quicker to jump to another system with than take something to a nearby surface station and return).

There should be non-Legacy game version, I am not exactly sure how it's named on Steam (but it's not the Arena), so check it's installed. Frontier will make the Live version default on Steam next week, but until them it's possible you will need to install it extra.

Are you playing on Console or PC.

All console versions are Legacy and no longer updated, so the Inara data will not match in game on console play.
Frontier are now only supporting PC platform with updates.

The data in Inara is crowdsourced. There are tools you can run in the background while playing the game (e.g. Elite Dangerous Market Connector). These scan the game's log files and send data to the EDDN, which in turn Inara gets its data from. As long as no data about a particular star system has been uploaded this way, Inara doesn't know that it exists and what's in it.

I hope I picked the right forum for this question, I apologize if not. But where would I go to advertise/recruit for a newly formed squadron?

Hey guys, I'm in a bit of a pickle. Last time that I played the game, I docked into a random player's carrier and left the game. I logged back in today and found that he essentially carried me a huge distance closer to the galactic core from where I was before. I was originally doing some mining in an area that was more dense in star systems and I didn't require long distance jump capabilities, so my Python is now too heavy to make the journey back to where I was because the distance between star systems is much too large for me to be able to make those jumps myself. I also have a cargo hold full of expensive minerals but dumping the cargo didn't help much, as I still cannot make jumps that are larger than 16 light years.

I already checked the player who owns the carrier but he didn't check into the game for almost 2 months now so I'm not sure if he'll even respond if I approach him about dropping me off at some space station.

What would you guys suggest that I do? Would anyone be able to help out and pick me up from where I am right now or am I basically screwed and have to self-destruct? Will that even return me to an actual space station or am I just gonna respawn back at the same carrier?
