MiseriI would certainly remind folks thinking about using a SCO for deep exploration to watch their fuel gauges closely when out in the void

Don't worry, the Federation will probably pass a law that all ships sold in Federal space will have to be environmentally sustainable by 3375 so that they use less or zero fuel. We can't be burning up all that free, scoopable fuel, doncha know.

Thinder I only use mine 1/2 sec to get out of a planet orbit, what really bugs me is that they cannot be downsized to gain weight.

I don't need jump range on my corvette but reducing time from my Carrier to a CZ would be useful....

You can’t downsize but it is very possible to just fit a D rated and not lose anything a normal FSD would provide you, while still getting the benefits of SCO to some degree (if you haven’t done that already). Although you might want to be wary of the thermal load of the D rated which is the highest along with the B rated SCO, and a Corvette does not handle it well (although it is enough to just leave planet gravity wells).

… but I honestly still fail to see what you gain by losing 14-38 tons of weight on a ship that with a full combat loadout easily goes into 2,000+ tons. That’s basically nothing in comparison.

Fun Fact: The first generation ships had fully functional farms not just for food supply, but to power the ships with cow farts.

Over 10 hours playing time for 7 missions; worth approx. 58 million credits including bounties. Minus 3 deaths at 13 million each and nearly 3 million for repairs. The result of this strategic masterstroke on my part is 1.6 million credits earned per hour and a 5% increase in combat level and Federation rank.

Reminds me of an old Dire Straits song...

I'm almost to week 4 pledged to LYR; pledged for the Packhounds.
(I started my pledge on a Wednesday "night", so that each week of pledge would happen a little before each tick.)

If I grind out the 750 merits over the next couple of days before the tick, will the Packhounds be unlocked at the tick or will I need to wait another week?

Asked another way: Should I grind out the 750 merits before the 4 week mark or after?

Before, Rating will be evaluated at the tick, anything you do after will wait another week.

You've encountered the infamous - but rare - infinite CZ bug. I guess if you want to farm merc rank...

I posted a full report on the subject when I tested and engineered the Python MKII, the gain in maneuverability are substantial and one can feel the difference in Combat.

It works with the Corvette just the same, FSD plus the other weight saving measures makes the ship more responsive, with the corvette, the most affected are Speed and Boost Speed, as for the total weight it's well below 2,000 tons at 1,914t.

I don't know if you load your Corvette with lead but 4.49% difference in total weight is a lot.

Just an example: Between Module Reinforcement Package and Shield Reinforcement Package, depending on Class, there can be a difference of 96 tons before engineering, a 2,000+ tons Corvette is what a newbie wanting to do too much would end up with...

Yes. I was told just the same when I encountered the stuck tickets bug and asked about it, getting told that there are rare occurrences where it just stops progressing for either side.

Like you, I also got bored after a while and reset it.

ThinderI don't know if you load your Corvette with lead but 4.49% difference in total weight is a lot.

A prismatic shield at size 7 is heavy. Some of my loadouts also require a max size power distributor or power plant to work as I intend them to, so I haven't bothered doing any kind of component stripping, which would require engineering them and finding the required module storage, for a benefit I don't feel I need.

But if you're into this kind of min maxing, well, it's not like I'll stop you from it.

Hope to catch an 'inactive NPCs' bug as well to blast them right off the landing pads, and get rich, and very very bored, overnight.

Since they don't move from the drop point once they respawn, I amuse myself by going bowling with a SRV. It's like the original Death Race 2000 in low G.

Nah, people in Death Race 2000 actually tried to evade. Mostly. :p
