DifcanDon't think anyone disagrees that powerplay should be strictly for open play. Kind of cowardly to play the multiplayer aspect of the game in solo. The way Frontier treats this game they should really consider a name change.

Sorry but i disagree. It's part of the core game features and there is no cowardice in that (imho of course). But I completely understand your point of view.
There is a infinite amount of topics about this on Frontier which clearly demonstrate that it is not so simple....

dont forget to round that off , traders should only play in solo , private should be taken out of the game and you should have different saves for solo and open ..... or maybe FD have created a way for peeps to truly be able to ''play the way they want''

DifcanHmmm, how about a server where there is no cmdr on cmdr fire(friendly fire, if you will) to your point, I'm not a programmer or computer guy really so I'm sure it's easier to consider a format change than to actually do it. My point is Powerplay is clearly meant to be a way for players to compete with each other. Solo play sorta erases the competitive aspect of it.
I completely disagree with the assertion that Powerplay is strictly PvP. Most of the undermining missions are played against NPC, based on their Power alignment. I would say that to ENCOURAGE PvP, FD could make missions that are specifically against human players - with a higher payoff or faster ranking for example.
But since Powerplay is part of the background sim and not an aspect available only in Open, and so it's completely appropriate, and fun, to play those missions in Solo or private groups.

Too true, another argument where neither side will ever convince the other...still...I'd love to hear ole' Jack Burton on the Pork Chop Express covering it, at least it would hilarious.

Well, ya see, I'm not saying that I've been everywhere and I've done everything, but I do know it's a pretty amazing planet we live on here, and a man would have to be some kind of FOOL to think we're alone in THIS universe.
