Rebecca got in position on the right side of the door. She'd drawn her pistol from a holster underneath her hoody and mounted the short silencer as it was well possible that there were still people in the apartment. With the other hand she began entering the code into the keypad next to her and the door unlocked with a silent clack sound.
26 Sep 2016, 7:43pm
Stryker would take up the second position, unfastening his weapon and preparing it for entry into the hovel.
26 Sep 2016, 7:55pm
Rebecca pushed the door open and moved in. Her pistol at the ready she advanced through the messy room, carefully aiming down the corners. Empty. But as she came closer to the doorframe leading into the next room she reached behind and signalized Stryker to stop.

Slowly she put one of her hands to her head to signalize Stryker to cover her, then she carefully moved closer to the doorframe. A tripwire, almost invisible in the dim environment, was installed in it.
26 Sep 2016, 8:06pm
Stryker would do as he was indicated, covering her. His hand on his pistol. His footsteps light for such a large man. He would glance down at the tripwire and nod to Rebecca.
26 Sep 2016, 8:50pm
"Ah. A breaking and entering. Should've guessed," Nick muttered to himself as he watched the two figures enter the room on the other side of the chasm, "I bet Cartlidge would want me to report this to security or something, but he ain't here."

He continued to watch with gleeful curiosity. If someone ended up with a bounty he was sure Cartlidge wouldn't mind stepping in, which meant he would get some of the profit. This was definitely more fun that talking to a bunch of self absorbed thugs from the local gang.
26 Sep 2016, 9:00pm
Rebecca carefully searched the doorframe of the sliding door. The tripwire disappeared in the slit where once the sliding door sat, but she wasn't able to determine where it lead to. Could be a bomb, could be a boobytrap, could be just a simple alarm.

She got up and carefully stepped over the tripwire.

The next room wasn't as messy as the first one, but still pretty messy. The red dot of her laser roamed around the room, then she decided that it could be regarded as safe.

She let her pistol sink and turned to Stryker.

"The safe should be somewhere here. Do you think you can open it without damaging it?"
26 Sep 2016, 10:10pm
Stryker would carefully step over the tripwire, and pick his way through the mess. He watched the dancing red dot on the wall for a moment.

"I might be able to. Depends on the safe, the locking mechanism and other factors."

He approached the wall and sliding his ruck sack off his shoulder, he opened it and donned a nitrile glove. He inspected it by running his hand over it.

"Well, its got a facade. But doesn't look like its going to be too much of a pain." Squatting back down, Stryker would rummage through the sack again pulling out a pick, and a multi-meter like device.

"Internally wired..." He would look at Rebecca. "I'll need to...." He would look around and stepping back over the tripwire find what he was looking for. A small fuse box. Popping it open, he would test a a couple of connections with the multi-meter.....

"Ah, there you are." He would say. He would pop it.

He would pick his way back into the room, and would pry the facade upward reveling a safe.

"Well now, key and lock." He would then procure a pick out of his utility belt, and slowly insert the thing. Next he inserted one of the probes of the multi-meter. Carefully watching the applied amperage, he turned the pick until there was a click.
28 Sep 2016, 3:17pm
Rebecca had closed the entrance door and then proceeded to watch Stryker unlocking the safe. As far as she could judge it, he had considerable experience in doing so.

It didn't take long until he and the tools he took out of his backpack opened the safe with a click.

"Careful, it could be wired inside. We don't want to trip an alarm.", Rebecca said as Stryker was about to pull the safe open.
28 Sep 2016, 4:10pm
Stryker took his time opening the safe. For all he knew, Rebecca could be right. The thing could be rigged.

Her suspicion was confirmed.

"Aye, it is, but not mechanically. There is a sensor emitting high frequency emissions," he would point to a small indentation in the wall of the safe, "and there, the receiver." He would then point to the opposite wall.

Squatting back down he would pull out two small extendable mirrors, used for looking into small tight places from his ruck sack.

"Think that eye of yours can see into that emissions spectra?" He would ask. "'Cause if it can, that would be boat loads of help right now."

Rebecca opened a holographic control panel with a quick tap on a bracelet on her arm. She tapped a few more times, then she closed her organic eye.

"Yes, I can see into that spectrum. What do you want me to do?"
30 Sep 2016, 12:54pm
"We have two options." The muscular man would say, "We can try to reflect the beam up and over to gives a space to reach in using...." he would shake the small mirrors, "...or we could reach in there grab it and run." He would pause.

"Given that you can see the beam, your more likely able to reflect it. But remember, if it breaks contact with its sensor, it'll be a snatch and run." Stryker would offer the two mirrors to Rebecca.
30 Sep 2016, 1:07pm
Rebecca looked at the mirrors, then at Stryker, then at the safe. She considered the option for a moment, but given the circumstances of limited time and the two inhabitants of the apartment coming back anytime, she chose the easier of the two methods.

"We have limited time. Let's snatch it and run. I want to be out here before the happy couple comes back."
30 Sep 2016, 3:03pm
Stryker would squat again, putting the mirrors back into the ruck sack, then he would pull out a black hoodie. The sleeves had been cut off low as to show off his powerful arms, obliques and a bit of torso. He slipped it on. Next he pulled out a light mechanical mask and donned it to cover his face and finally pulling the hood over his shorn head.

"I think you know what your looking for, unless you want me to reach in there and pull whatever it is your after out?"

Nick sat by his window, bored out of his mind. Since the pair of stangers had closed the door, he was unable to see what was happening.

"You'd've thought one of em would've kept watch for that other pair to come back," he muttered to himself. Then again, maybe they weren't there to rob the place, but to ambush the couple when they got back.  Damn. If that were the case, he'd wish he was there to take part in it himself. In his opinion, the confused and shocked look on one's face just before they got blasted was the best part of the job. Well... that and the money.

"You open it, I'll get what's inside. Then we make our get away.", she said while looking at Stryker.
